Re: Does bParticles add particles onto each vertex of a mesh

Yes, bParticles will render a texture at each vertex of the mesh instead of the mesh itself. However, when you do so, the Drawscale property will affect the size of the particles and not the size of the mesh, meaning that with bParticles the base mesh always stays with a scale of 1.0 (its original s...

Re: When testing - re-building vs no build ?

I just want to point out that when you add a light, you should rebuild the BSP before rebuilding the lighting, otherwise meshes generally won't be affected by the newly added light, so they will remain completely dark in the area you added the new light on. I don't know why is this, but there's prob...

Re: Interesting observation on pathnode selection

I think that random-wise they should use the same algorithm and type of seeding, thus yielding similar results, although I don't really remember if the arguments are inclusive or exclusive, which may yield slightly biased results depending on such cases, since there would zero chance for the max val...

Re: Sup

It's always very cool when a legend returns to the UT scene.
Welcome. :tu:

I pretty much built a weapon mod which is used almost exclusively with MH, the maps number in the thousands for MH alone, so yeah...

Re: Hello, World!

It's rare to see people these days whom come back to enjoy custom mods and maps, as most come back still expecting to find the vanilla game and nothing more.
Welcome. :tu:

Re: On the subject of time travel

Purely in the realm of possibility, this is possible to do to an extent, as for the most part you only have to record a few key properties from actors over time (once a second for example), so you're able to either change them back or respawn them and set those properties. However, you cannot do it ...

Re: The AWESOME Mapping Contest

Well, if you need ideas for very simple maps, here's one you can do in 8 simple steps: Step 1: Build simple DM cube map. Step 2: Subtract some smaller cubes from that cube at the player level, and add some square doors to them. Step 3: Have those doors opening at random, and shoot cows violently fro...

Re: The AWESOME Mapping Contest

Hmm, well if Ferali is out, and you need inspiration, what about taking on whatever Ferali had planned and running with it ? The idea itself was quite simple: a CTF map, which is actually a race, which happens inside an infinite tube with a zone velocity set to forward and no gravity, built with wa...

Re: The AWESOME Mapping Contest

I'm not going to participate after all, you can remove my name from the list. It's been on my mind on whether or not I should participate, but I have to budget my free time carefully, and the map I intended to do would probably take more work than expected and I would end up missing the deadline any...

Re: NW3 Health Modifier issue

While the pack does a lot indeed (most of which is unused by the community even), the main reason is not because the code itself is flexible, it's only because those were the thousands of use-cases I imagined and developed them all into a single pack. This means that the underlying code does not hav...

Re: NW3 Health Modifier issue

Function MutatorTakeDamage has these parameters: function MutatorTakeDamage(out int ActualDamage, Pawn Victim, Pawn InstigatedBy, out Vector HitLocation, out Vector Momentum, name DamageType) So I think it is not possible to conclude from these parameters to the projectile's properties, only the pr...

Re: NW3 Health Modifier issue

Thank you very much for your help Feralidragon! It works fine now, also I have no teammate healing because of my configuration. The health modifier now simply prevents self damage only (with the weapon in use) and the flametracker is no problem anymore... EDIT: The Miner seems to be little bit prob...

Re: NW3 Health Modifier issue

Yes, that's probably it, but you need to cast the weapon into a NaliWeapons so you can use or check its properties:
Code: Select all
if (NaliWeapons(InstigatedBy.Weapon) == None || !NaliWeapons(InstigatedBy.Weapon).HealthGiver)

Re: NW3 Health Modifier issue

Any help for programming that would be appreciated. Any doubts you may have, you can just post away. :) Hmm, never tried to heal a teammate by using the health mutator. In which case do this work? In my test right now I shoot a teammate with some weapons using health modifier and he did not get mor...
