Re: SWWM 4: The ORIGINAL Some Weird Weapons Mod

This brings back memories. He had some great original ideas, but his mod went downhill once he started to compare himself with others and started to try to clone a few weapons from other mods (namely from mine for example). Plus, he disregarded performance almost entirely and things never really wor...

Re: Active forums

The ripper looks awesome, but I don't like the small blades in the razors, it doesn't look like it would bounce off walls and make clean cuts like a single circular blade would.

Re: Collection updates...

Nani!?

Sugoi!

As an aside, did anyone notice that there's a Japanese server with 30/30 players (most of them fakes for sure)?
I tried to enter it, but got rejected, so probably they are only allowing Japanese IPs.

Re: Extreme dry season in Europe

As much as I hate to say this: can you hold the hotness there till it's over. They are predicting that after you survived it, we will be next in line, the upper west countries. I am not sure about Scandinavia......... Or send it to the moon!!! I don't care.... We already survived 2 heatwaves..... W...

Re: Is IpDrv (UBrowserHTTPClient) meant to cache DNS respons

Do not forget that when you add the IP addresses directly into /etc/hosts , you're essentially short-circuiting DNS altogether, meaning that the DNS problem could still be somewhere else, including in your own system. If you really want to check with pretty much 100% certainty that it's the ISP faul...

Re: Is IpDrv (UBrowserHTTPClient) meant to cache DNS respons

It's highly unlikely that UT caches any DNS at all, since its networking support is fairly primitive, but I could be wrong. Therefore, odds are that the ISP where your server is hosted at has a faulty DNS server overall which is taking too long to respond and resolve. One way to test if this is the ...

Re: Extreme dry season in Europe

At 13:00 it was already at around 40ºC (104ºF), and even so the temperature was still like "this ain't even my final form", and at around 16:00-17:00 it really peaked at 43-44ºC (111ºF). Icecream starts melting right away outside the fridge, we have to drink quite some more water than usua...

Re: Extreme dry season in Europe

Well, today here in Portugal (namely Lisbon) it will be 44ºC , so today we're going to break records, we never had this temperature before. These days have been so hot, I actually stayed at work late just to enjoy the AC. I wouldn't mind to go to work these days just to enjoy the AC. Now this weeken...

Re: Custom Playermodel.

For Unreal Gold questions, is best if you ask them here instead: https://www.oldunreal.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl There are some members here whom probably know about that stuff for Unreal specifically, but just as this site is the place to go for UT99 stuff, OldUnreal is the place to go for Unreal s...

Re: Testing/Debugging Hacks & Tips

Higor wrote:Well, collision hashing could be one of the causes too.
Did you try with XC_Engine + CollisionGrid.dll?

Just tried, and it works.
No longer crashes even if I set the collision to stupid values like 100.000, and the performance never takes a hit.
This is a very cool thing you made here. :)

Re: First Maps (CTF)

You could always use good ol'plain zip. :)
Rar is loosing its relevance anyway, and has been for a while already.

Re: Testing/Debugging Hacks & Tips

I suppose what I was trying to say is that since the calling function has hopefully also done sanity checks, we can attempt to optimize the function based on the likelihood of aPawn being None. Optimizing a function based on the likelihood of certain values is a good way of doing it, but generally ...

Re: Screenshots

It looks good though. :)
From your other topic, I assume this to be an instagib map?
It seems to have a good layout for Siege as well, not sure if you ever tried it.
