Re: My map made it into the official Fortnite game

That's an awesome accomplishment, that gets your name out there to millions of other people. In Unreal, with its own aesthetics, it would look even cooler, though.

Re: -= What about a new mapping contest? =-

The Ultra Speedmaps in the UnrealSp mapping contests produced some fairly interesting results, so I wouldn't toss the idea aside! A more moderate time frame like one week or so could also be considered. Of course, the maps may seem rushed in one way or another, but it's also possible to polish them ...

Re: BSP holes revealed. TIP

The only thing I can think of is that it is somehow connected to merged faces, which is still strange since you normally have to select it every time you want to do it. But did you ever try to seperate the textures of the brush after the realignment?

Re: Retirement/account closure method?

This is a great initiative, thanks! Jack, I wouldn't be so rushed if I were you. If I remember correctly, you've been away and back again at least once, probably several times. De- and re-activating your status every time it might happen, seems awkward. You will probably look in here every now and t...

Re: Fortnite forums

In my humble opinion, the decision of yours is unreasonable, at least in terms of your projects concerning this 20-year-old game. Why did you develop them initially when you toss them aside so easily? Have you been dissatisfied with your progress anyway? For whom did you do it? If for your personal ...

Re: CTF-Blice (WIP)

In the previous shots I was thinking: "interesting, pretty cool". Now, with lighting I think: "Incredible"! I wouldn't care for framerate issues if you are below 1000, anyway, and if the view is deserving of that many polygons. I mean, even the internet demands quite capable computers nowadays. If t...

Re: My Opinion about the finished AMC maps.

It's very interesting how some of our opinions differ: Sometimes, where I found value (e.g. BigAndUgly: lots of freedom; Gluon: tight layout), you saw issues, and vice versa (CalderaCrust with 5 players, this must have been a non-stop slaughter-fest at some spawnpoints!). This just shows how one vie...

Re: editor Dave's little AMC review

I'm glad you liked reading my thoughts! I will also write something about the bonus content, but this time probably in the respective threads. @R3plicant: Don't sell yourself so short. Your maps have style, and when I thought of including a CTF map into my final vote, yours and KillRoy's were actual...

Re: editor Dave's little AMC review

Now I'm finally finished with my review. I hope you enjoy reading it. If you want to discuss some of the points I raised, please don't be shy and voice your concern! I refrained from giving scores to the individual maps, as the numbers would be just made up somehow and they are not really tell...

Re: The AWESOME Mapping Contest - PARTICIPANTS VOTE!!

I will vote for the following maps, according to the suggested terms of appreciation, but also favoring generally good maps that have a little extra. 4 Points for the absolute best map. DM-AMC-Gluon by Revelation – it’s the best map if you consider every aspect, in my opinion. The skybox and the ext...

editor Dave's little AMC review

Sorry, I’m a little late to the party, but I needed some time to prepare this essay! :D It’s that time of the year again when mappers from all over the world came together in a loosely competitive manner to create and publish new works for the community to enjoy. This time, there was no real theme, ...

Re: The AWESOME Mapping Contest

As a judge, I was having similar thoughts concerning the "awesome" theme. While writing my review, first I try to think why the maps could be considered "awesome" and then proceed to write what I think about them in general. The category can be adjusted in a very broad way, so I can find find someth...

Re: AMC- CTF- Under (Unfinished missed deadline)

I would've liked to look at the map in the editor since the concept seemed intriguing (one tight bridge, more narrow than in Face? Potentially troublesome :satan: ), but I'm missing the package 'UT99org_AMC_2018'...

EDIT: Nevermind, it's the .utx with the badge inside  Feedback will come soon!

Re: The AWESOME Mapping Contest

It all depends on the situation, as always... First of all, you can consider why you write the criticism: 1.) Do I want the creator to improve the map? 2.) Do I want the creator to know of the issues so he can be more alert about them in the future? 3.) Do I want others to know of the pros and cons ...
