Re: Re-release for all UT S3TC textures

I guess the discussion ends there. I do know how this stuff works, and i am certainly not an idiot. As i see it now, you just keep being mysterious about the effect it has if servers use the 1st CD textures. So this leaves 3 options: - There actually is something i dont know. (and so be it, i am an ...

Re: Re-release for all UT S3TC textures

As i already said, i dont play the game myself, and that has a downside, i rely heavelly on bugreports from people that actually play the game. if i release new S3TC packages, i always listen carefully to UTers to see if bugs apear. In most cases i myself cause the bugs mostly due to enormous amount...

Re: Re-release for all UT S3TC textures

Of course you are entitled to have your own opinium in this, and if you want to run your servers otherwise is up to you. Its after all how you want it. But for me it leaves a few questions: I would like to clarify that stock textures and the free server installation that is encouraged by Epic (and u...

Re: Re-release for all UT S3TC textures

Me and you both! I am sticking with STOCK Textures ALL the way! If clients want to change - that is their problem, but me and my servers, we stay with the original Stock Textures! UT can't afford a split now! Not worth it! :| Also, any New Players that we possibly pick up will be very confused and ...

Re: Re-release for all UT S3TC textures

Just tested on |uK|'s Siege server, no issues. Do you have a server IP and portnumber for that one, and maps that are know to have the problem? This is going to sound like such a niggling complaint, but could you post with less space between your lines DieHard? You often make very large posts and t...

Re: Re-release for all UT S3TC textures

Oh yeah, if you know servers that are known to have the glitch, please go there and report what happens there now. Its something i asked on several forums. The server i tested it with, had CTF-Face running and had the glitch if you entered with S3TC. After making test files the glitch was gone, so i...

Crucial updates

Make note, these updates only apply to Unreal Tournament. Do not use them for Unreal ! Updates: Because of the speed to process everything, 1 new package is included being noxxpack.utx The package does contain beta textures, and though most of them look cool, there still are some beta textures that ...

Re-release for all UT S3TC textures

Hi all. In an attempt to get rid of the so called skating player glitch, all S3TC textures have been re-processed. In the post below you will find more info on the downloads, but i also want to point out a few other things. Theoretically the glitch should be gone permanently, but it still means: Ser...

Re: Terragen to Ued

Actually i have seen super cool results when using Terragen to create landscapes. So for that matter i highly recommend it. And here is a mirror for the article that was mentioned: Terragen2 Unreal SilverIbex And have a look at this map which is made by SilverIbex: DM-TerraExample.zip So as far as m...

Re: UED and Texture limitations

But just a question: I know that BSP surfaces can handle higher resolutions even if not S3TC (I mean, I already saw and used 1024x1024 textures in maps), always mipmapped of course, but regarding mesh skinning, can UT hold a mesh with a texture with 1024x1024? It's because I always heard that such ...

Outgoing links opening in new window

I noticed that the links on this forum override the forum itself. And even worse, if you make a post that contains links and you click on them while doing a preview, your post is gone because the window gets redirected to where the link goes. I had the same problems on my forums and theres a simple ...

Re: IMPORTING TEXTUREs...

But in any case regardless what you read here, or elsewhere, the instructions on that page really are the only correct way to create utx packages without flaws !!! Em, what i ment by that is, the advice given here by others are ment well, but the problem is, there are at least a 50 different method...

Re: IMPORTING TEXTUREs...

And since i am here to answer all kinda texture answers, you really should read this article: Creating Normal Packages And for the record, these instructions apply to both Unreal and UT, theres no differnece in the aproach between the games. Also, if you dont have Photoshop, than a link is provided ...
