Re: Best Graphics Quality

If you run the latest renderers on UT, such as OpenGL or Direct3D 10 or 11, you should get pretty good graphics quality. Nice looking map, btw. Looks like it'd be good for games using the Instagib mutator or even the Shock Rifle Arena mutator. definitely one of the two. Laser-tag == InstaGib in my ...

Re: Best Graphics Quality

Welcome - regarding graphic quality. As an alternative, there is OpenGL. Did you try that one? If not then you should give it a look - I have a (GTX970) and OpenGL definitely looks better than D3D on my monitors (BENQ). That said brightness adjustment (f11) sadly does not work when OpenGL in win10. ...

Re: Seeking CTF, does this sound familiar?

hmm CTF-DMUT-LostValley ... you know there's no brushes in that map? 2020-03-29_13-47-19.jpg you might be able to do your monster thing as long as you don't try and rebuild geometry or lighting... i'm not sure whether paths can be re-built without brushes... i think so, but you'd have to try it. you...

Tracking: Canadian covid19 portal, the global section shows slightly bigger picture.
Some of this stuff you've probably seen already, some data perhaps not.

Re: Starnge problem with skyzoneinfo

Something you can do: - select one at a time using the "Search for actors" window (binoculars icon on the top tool-bar) - enter name "multi", they will all be listed. - choose the first one by double-clicking the name. note it is selected even if you can't see it. - confirm it is selected by clickin...

Re: Today is Friday the 13th!

hmm... in my case the object on my left is a beats pill... let's see how would that play out: <begin day-dream sequence> suddenly he appears in front of me - standing on my desk right behind my monitors with his feet sticking out under. raising his sword to strike! not wishing to become a headless b...

Re: A question for the mappers...

hmm... :what: As I recall, started in 1999 - first maps were one simple blocky quake 2 map and two half-life map layouts, built with worldcraft. Followed these with four unreal maps: 1. ancient temple full of mostly homs and also some sliths 2. a blocky crypt full of skaarjs and paupes 3. strange te...

Re: FNB All Good Things BETA Feedback

ya, sorry regarding the missing dependencies. I did have a beta that contained the creavion giant texture files but i removed it. this kind of file-bloat seemed rediculous when everyone would already have facepalm and antalius in their ut99 map collections. Same situation exists for a bunch of other...

Re: FNB All Good Things BETA Feedback

for the curious... There's two things about the inspiration photos in the hidden room: that is the atrium of a building I actually work in in RL(tm). Every morning I would walk into that place, look up at that skylight, and I'd think "man, this place looks like it came from a video game like bioshoc...

Re: FNB All Good Things BETA Feedback

Hey Hi Texas  Long time no see! Nice to see you here :tu: Wow! there's lots of folks here at ut99 from all over, even from UP and NaliCity. I'm sure you'll recognize some names. They also do contests here! Usually one a year. I have a large collection of map, as most peeps here do, and in my c...

Re: multiple skyboxes

The way to put it in your map is to first open one of the maps mentioned, then open your map without closing the editor. Then, open the actor class browser and choose Actor -> Info -> ZoneInfo -> MultiSkyZoneInfo. Place the actor in your map and then save your map. Close the editor. Now you can open...

Re: unreal playground mappacks names

I have a number archived - likely all of these are available from the recent repository sites. Some have already been mentioned... This is just a snap of the contests/mappacks I know about, since I was there, lol! Some of these pack projects had dev threads, etc., but were not specifically for UP. A...
