Re: Epic games releases...spyware?

I'm honestly stunned that you guys feel this way, especially concerning civil rights. Do you really think it's fine to let a government just arbitrarily decide what's considered punishable speech without a public discussion? What your rights are as a citizenry? Go back in our long, dark history and ...

Re: Epic games releases...spyware?

So I'm honestly curious about something... What would the evidence need to be that would cause you to have concern? (to anyone) I think it's that I just lived in an era where there was an expectation of privacy. That's obviously over because every time you open a news feed there's a social media com...

Re: Epic games releases...spyware?

So, it didn't take a month. Instead it's just eight days later... https://img-9gag-fun.9cache.com/photo/aWYoP4q_700bwp.webp and an extended but thorough explanation: fov47kEvi0E This might do it for me. I can't support such behavior by a company. This is why I don't have a Facebook, Twitter, or Insta.

Why go to all this trouble? Just play them in Unreal.

Re: Weapon Meshes

You can't (as far as I know) specify the axis. That would require exporting to Blender and flipping it, which is probably the route you should take so you have fine grain control. Is this a static mesh or is it animated? If you go that route it's best to use UModel for your mesh exporting. I've run ...

Re: Weapon Meshes

The easiest way I've found is to export the model then import it back in as a mirrored mesh. This is an example from Food Fight:

#exec MESH IMPORT MESH=SaladBagM ANIVFILE=MODELS\SaladBag_a.3d DATAFILE=MODELS\SaladBag_d.3d LODSTYLE=10 UnMirror=1

That last bit is the magic.

Re: The AWESOME Mapping Contest

Yeah man, congratulations! You'll love those shirts. They are super comfortable and I wear mine in constant rotation as undershirts for work. They wear incredibly well and the logos show no damage at all after repeated washings. Wait until the first person say something to you in public. It's the co...

Re: Epic games releases...spyware?

You can't protect your data Then post your real name. The reason you don't is because you know you deserve the right to privacy. To say that it's OK that it gets invaded simply because it doesn't directly affect you is very short-sighted. didn't Epic give us the greatest gift of all? My wife gave m...

Re: Epic games releases...spyware?

I see the validity in your arguments but why does this keep happening and it's always centered on your contacts/history/usage/etc? This never happens because some company accessed my installed screensaver catalogue or encrypted and saved all my data concerning CPU temps. No, they keep grabbing the s...

Re: Epic games releases...spyware?

(Data = money) in today's economic model. That's what will drive development. I think it's also way too easy of a way out to just say "anticheat" and that's supposed to excuse any file being accessed, catalogued, and referenced. sit.jpg It's not a free pass to gather everything in my syste...

Epic games releases...spyware?

Have you guys been following this?

I wish I was a bit more tech literate about what they are discussing but it certainly doesn't look good.

Re: Farewell Unreal Survivors

You did good P, there's nothing to regret.

As a community we've held on for much longer than anyone would have predicted, almost solely because of people like you carrying the torch. You did your part so now enjoy your free time as you wish. You've earned it.

I'm going to reply to you over at HoF since I don't want to derail this conversation. I'm leaving for work but I'll message you there when I get home tonight. They are having game night tonight so I'll be there anyway.

Re: Map finishing service?

Nels, you are one of the people I really enjoy working with. You are direct, focused, and way smarter than people know. It suits my style very much when I get focused on a project and my tunnel vision Aspergers-mind kicks in. I learn a lot by working on something with you. My biggest limit now is ju...
