Re: What's faster between a 'foreach' and a 'for' on a chain

forum cannot be read that easy because of useless crap posted all the time just to be in portal with posting, right ? I get your point Nels but you head down a bad road when you start saying things like that. I don't expect to find everything posted to be interesting but the staff does do a pretty ...

Re: antitweak as tweak

PM/email me what you need and I'll fix you up. I don't like to see someone honestly struggling so long with something.

Re: UT2004 PWC server

Server keeps crashing on me. The PWC mods (I'm sorry to say) are not very well coded in that they just *pour* errors into the log. I have a message into Sarge asking if I can work on them and see if they can be improved. As they are now it's causing my entire server to lock up with a couple of maps....

Re: Real_Caledar

This is not at all accurate. Bob and I made extensive maps out of statics, importing entire levels from Killing Floor, Portal, etc. As long as they are pathed correctly it's fine.

UT2004 PWC server

Some of you older guys may remember the PWC servers and Sgt. Muffin. I reached out to Muff about maybe getting the server files to run a PWC clone server because I missed the Hellbender races and the Command-and-Conquer Mario maps (remember those?). Sarge answered and happily shared his files with m...

Re: Botpathing contest ?

Won't all the tests have to be done on the same machine? Different CPU's would surely give faster response times to the AI computations and throw off the results. Someone will need to host the contest entirely.

Re: switching players to another server ?

Yes, but it would require a custom actor (teleporter based code) or could also be done via opening the clients console (I won't do that to my clients). I made this for MH so you could properly server travel from my hub map without crashing the server you were leaving but other gametypes may not (pro...

Re: HeatMap (Processor of players pass-by-spot levels) [T

Heat maps are interesting, we used that data a lot in DayZ to suggest places to hide tents and safes that were seldom traveled. I'm not really sure in UT how much information it would give you though. UT maps overall just aren't large enough to generate data that's useful. I can see it being interes...

Re: Unreal Tournament TV (UTV)

Server side demo recording. It's not going to be live but it will record everything in the server. I did it for a while but the file sizes get pretty large quickly. It's not something I'd leave on all the time. I'm not saying not to use UTV. In fact I've seen it used and it both works and it's inter...

Re: Builder gun (builds bridges and blocks passages)

I'm curious, has anything been tried like this that was scaled up above a couple of test canvas drawings? I'd never really considered this way because it seems to me that it just wouldn't look right. One thing I was considering was having a builder gun with a set series of meshes that you could scro...

DMZ MH server

IP: 71.11.65.100:7787 For the Christmas season I tossed up my (over the top) MH server. It's running NW3 and a bunch of holiday themed stuff I've made over the years. Holiday lights, themed pickups, titans that throw presents...shit like that. There's an Xmas-themed version of MH2 as the base. Also ...

Re: Terraniux' MH-AfterDark2

I reference it but I don't really advertise it. I like to play and I don't mind at all when people hop on too but I am just way too busy to support a community of players that request things, suggest maps, etc. Pium hangs out a lot in my TS and we are talking about running a legit hosted server if h...

Re: Builder gun (builds bridges and blocks passages)

That's funny, I just put MH-Lemmings on my server this morning because it was one map I don't think I've ever legit beaten. On a serious note this is a project I've toyed with a *lot*. For about an hour there was a really vibrant community in UT2004 for the builder maps and I saw some really elabora...

Re: Terraniux' MH-AfterDark2

I'm pretty excited by this. Your map has been my go-to test map for my script mod/testing for quite some time. Since the starting rooms have it all (movers, paths, tons of pickups, larger area to mess around, then separated corridor where monsters begin) it's a really good map to use for this. I'm p...
