Re: Unreal Tournament 469

If you have any feedback for UT469 it would be more constructive to post about it instead of textures-sounds chapter or such, just saying... I'm using UT469 for Editor, comparing new maps builds with original builds, as with regard to the game - maybe I'll use it next year if it will be done... in ...

Re: MAPS - the best maps made by community

I've been told that official map fixes that require a direct modification to the .unr files won't make the cut for v469 due to a requirement of keeping compatibility with v436.

Re: MAPS - the best maps made by community

Oof... One day I shall pull out a list of my fav maps. They are too many. In fact, this could be a good moment for revisiting my backups.

I'm also unable to upload files. I wanted to upload this UT2004 mappack and several other stuff but I'm being blocked by the virus scan failed message.

Re: Edited int files for advanced tweaking (BENEFITS ALL USERS)

Not exactly. That simple edit allows you to not have to worry if a certain driver lacks the corresponding type line (i.e. an audio driver missing the line Preferences=(Caption="Audio",Parent="Advanced Options") ), as it will show in "Advanced Options" anyway. Still, people creating new drivers for U...

Re: Edited int files for advanced tweaking (BENEFITS ALL USERS)

Bump! This topic is of the highest interest for me, as I'm working with the Localization project . Many of those fixes and tips could definitely be implemented in v469 (and even Unreal v227!), and some of them already are. Here's another one (mostly for pre-v469): Open Engine.int and add the followi...

There is one, it's just a room we cannot explore. 👀

Re: Assigning gametypes to maps... or not

Some maps could lend themselves surprisingly well to other gametypes, with the right adjustments. There are many DM maps which would work well in Domination. (Gothic, for example). The key for proper DOM maps is that these points should be placed in highly recognizable areas with proper names. "Alph...

Re: How can I use mutators in UT99's single player campaign ladder?

It could be doable, but first you need some kind of framework for a custom ladder. Just working on a new one means you have to (unfortunately) replicate a lot of code, since the ladder wasn't designed to be customized. Most of the stuff is hardcoded.

Re: UnrealArchive.org

On the other it's jarring that UT3 is forbidden in the Unreal Archives, yet the other "black sheep" of the family, Unreal 2, has a place. I've spent a lot of time in recent months implementing support for UE3's unpleasant (compared to the relative clean simplicity of UE 1 and 2) package format in t...

Re: UnrealArchive.org

" And I don't care a single bit about people's opinions about UT3 " For people that didn't play UT or Unreal, (or Quake 1) they are too young to appreciate how kiddyfied it is, was, and still is. Plus all the extra server space, I would rather keep what he did so far. 8) Whatever, UT3 is still part...

Re: Assigning gametypes to maps... or not

Yeah, it's still the responsibility of the mappers, even though it's expected maps and matches to be launched through the GUI or by specifying the gametype in the command line rather than just double-clicking a file.
