Re: Fix for maps with deleted brushes

You will wish you used UEd2.1 before. It will help to install one of the ported botpack.u files so most of the UT extra actors are available. Many handy new features and import/export options. It can even do some things that UEd 3 cannot. Even though you will be able to do individual X/Y/Z scaling o...

Re: Level Design with Xan - my new Youtube show!

Nice idea, I hope you get plenty of viewers and useful feedback.
If you are having problems capturing, perhaps the alternative build of OBS, "SLOBS" will make things easier.

Re: ini configurator or editor?

Shame the UT99 version at UnrealAdmin is not working

Depending on your needs, this post may be all you need

There are generic INI editors but the only one I can think of is

Re: The AWESOME Mapping Contest - PARTICIPANTS VOTE!!

Congratulations and well done everyone. Can I suggest that the included images in the distro are optimised ? Images in a distro are for previewing the map/mod rather than getting high quality print outs or posters. There are convenient tools that let you compare size and quality. http://luci.crioswe...

Re: UT on a big sceen

I have used a projector a few times, and played UT at life-size, filling the wall.
Tends to work better for big outdoor maps, so mostly played UT2004

Re: BRUT/BRUTUS (Entry for the December contest)

I would have like to seen more reference to this in the votes. Playing with and without (same for Chaos) will often make a big difference to game play and map use. Don't forget to try changing the order of the mutators if you have conflicts. EnhancedItems is one of those that can conflict, but can b...

Re: CTF FNB Liandri Towers BETA needs feedback!!!

I suspect FnB was also alluding to decorations with deco packs.
1 thing an FnB map always has is looking used and lived-in.

Re: Why the need for DirectX to play with D3D10 but not D3D9

Interesting.
It should play both, both ways, just not at full speed.
A fresh Win10 can run older DX with software emulation. Generally installing the full DX9 gives back the hardware access.

Possibly the DX10 renderer is compiled in a way it is using an old DX or even VC++ library.

Re: NW3 Ultra Gore SSE

A little tip when getting screenshots.
Crop to the important bit before posting.
The easiest way is to only capture the selected window. You can do this by holding the ALT key when you hit the Print Screen key :tu:

Re: DM-AMC-Modular [Final]

This looks very UT4 inspired actually, so with HD skins or custom models and Nali Gore, Youtube vids could cause as much confusion as the Nali Weapons vids did, with people thinking it was for UT2004.
Very slick and polished looking.

Re: S3TC addons for Unreal Editor

Very cool. Seems like a much better way to merge the textures. I think it may be worth noting. Traditionally UT compressed textures are made from an 8 bit image, so you can have the same pallet. DDS/S3TC stores 24 and 32 bit data, so you can actually bypass optimising and dithering for 8bit imports,...

Re: UnrealEd crashing

It is really helpful for consistent lighting and colour to use the same renderer as you play the game with. In your UT config change [Engine.Engine] WindowedRenderDevice=SoftDrv.SoftwareRenderDevice and in your UnrealEd.ini change the viewport devices Swap them to use a modern renderer and now compr...

Re: Contest question

Such a shame you weren't in the Epic UT discord when some nay-sayers were dissing Paper and the competition, saying "Why bother if everything has already been done".
I did note this came from someone that apparently just converts old UT maps to UT4 :noidea
No imagination obviously.
