Re: MAX_POINTS crash

Thanks for the input. I figured that would be the case, and I do still see some room for optimization, so I guess I'll have to put some effort into it now. But I just wanted to be sure that I do not spend a lot of time working on the brushwork whereas the solution would have been to remove a couple ...

MAX_POINTS crash

A map I am currently working on together with some other mappers seems to crash after a while during online play with an error similar to this: Critical_Error.PNG I get I am hitting an UT-limit, which is 128000 points, but what exactly are points? Are these the vertices of brushes? Are this the vert...

Re: UnrealEd not saving settings

I think so. DEP is enabled for essential Windows programs and services only, and there is no way to add a program. I did have to disable DEP for UnrealEd on Win8.1, but it appears they changed something for Win10.

Re: UnrealEd not saving settings

Hmm good point. Editor.log is empty, unless I run the editor with the -log parameter, then it just shows some basic initialization information (and nothing more). I am pretty sure UnrealEd crashes when I close it (Windows Event viewer is full off APPCRASH entries because of Unrealed), but it has alw...

Re: UnrealEd not saving settings

Maybe a bigger gun helps: by using Process Monitor you can see what files are processed by UnrealEd.exe. It seems that different .INIs are accessed upon opening UnrealEd, but after opening, none of them are accessed anymore, even after changing settings. Here's what you should do: - Find the .ini f...

Re: UnrealEd not saving settings

It is installed in C:\Games\UnrealTournament, so I don't think that is the problem. It does not seem to be related to that UnrealEd would not have permission to write to the folder, as it is able to write to Editor.log.

UnrealEd not saving settings

Hello everyone! For some time already, UnrealEd is not saving any changes to the settings I make. It never really bothered me too much as I have been using the same settings for many years already, the only annoying thing is that it never remembers the last folder I used for, for example, importing ...

Re: Custom Team Color Maps

You have to use the Multitskin fields of the red flag to set the texture. Then it should appear properly.

Re: THE 512kb MAPPING CONTEST - Participants Vote

Alright! First of all, I am pretty much only a BT mapper/player, and I hardly ever play any other gametype. So my judgment will mostly be based on personal taste and impressions, rather than the more technical aspects specific for a certain gametype. (For example, the ideal player count or the quali...

Re: THE 512kb MAPPING CONTEST

Allright, here we go: CTF-512K-CostaDelw00t I did not really change much about the map compared to the post I made about a month ago, I just have been busy with my studies, and I have been working on another mapping project (Bunnytrack). I am fairly happy with how it turned out, I guess it could be ...

Re: THE 512kb MAPPING CONTEST

I kinda like the water idea, problem is that it would need bot pathing in the water as well, and I am very close tot he 512k limit. I'll think about it.

Re: THE 512kb MAPPING CONTEST

Almost done with my first map, been working on this on and off the last week, however my time for mapping is very limited. It has been ages since I made a CTF-map (let alone a non-BT map), and imo the CTF maps I made in the past aren't that great, but I think this may work out. Currently at 510kB no...

Ok, I'm totally bad at things like this, but I'll try:
