Re: Were our bug reports and suggestions even useful?

I'm sure that they have been, AnthraX and Higor both interacted with the feedback thread, so I've no doubt they took onboard what contributors had to say, and I think it was valuable to have had a place for people to get involved in the discussion about it (props to everyone who reported issues). Th...

Re: UT99 Self-hosted Server - Download speed extremely slow

More generally, I think I understood that the download speed really relies on this "redirectToUrl": so if I setup a small FTP server with all required files I should be fine with this issue I guess  Good thought! Though UT redirect files are hosted via a HTTP server - but you could definitely...

Re: UT99 Self-hosted Server - Download speed extremely slow

Well, XC_Engine is not true solution because solve problem only for this client. I think he want solve problem for all players on his server. Hmm, I think we might be misconstruing one another here. I use XC_Engine on our Bunnytrack server for this purpose, and it works reasonably well - big maps c...

Re: UT99 Self-hosted Server - Download speed extremely slow

Skillz over at UT-Files.com has been operating a public redirect for many years. Instructions are posted here: https://news.ut-files.com/redirect/ For many purposes it's a great resource. There might be occasional issues with exotic server setups and more obscure files due to file corruption which c...

Re: UT videos / movies

I've got 29 UT movies stored on my external hard drive, so I'll have a go at locating them online. These are all from the early 2000s (I think - I went on a downloading spree at the time). After searching, currently missing entries that I would otherwise have added include: Plat The Movie Dream Or R...

Re: Help remembering mod

Good suggestions. I also remember TNSE's admin tool, which is installed on my (currently broken) other PC, and proved handy in the time before I learned of Nexgen. The links on this page are sadly defunct. But perhaps you can hunt it down on another website (someone's bound to have a copy): https://...

That's fantastic Sponge, what a great initiative. I think one of the few positives of our current situation is that we'll see an explosion of creativity in all sorts of fields.

NogginBasher produced an enormous number of mods for UT, I feel very indebted to him.

Re: Unreal Tournament 469

I have noticed that mods using subclasses of the UBrowserHTTPClient are unable to connect to https sites. I haven't looked deeper into it, i.e. this might be absolutely logical since there is probably no SSL/TLS support in UT. Is this something which can be added for 469? This will be quite handy f...

Re: ComboGib >GRAPPLE< Server <//UrS//> - We are back!

Not sure if you have seen the post I made at the unrealriders forum, If you want to play on their server, run the game via UnrealTournament.ext and no XC_Launch.exe to stop the kicks.
Thanks Sniper, appreciate the tip

Re: Help! my ut99 is very sick :(

In the worst case scenario you could move your UnrealTournament.ini and User.ini files out of the System folder, let UT recreate default copies, and then go through the pain-staking process of restoring your customisations using a "diff" application like WinMerge. But I hope it won't come to that. T...

Re: Getting set up to write scripts

The bare bones approach (as opposed to installing a dedicated tool like WOTgreal) is Notepad and the command line. I use Notepad++ with a syntax highlighter for UnrealScript (I remember seeing two or three of these online, but not sure which I downloaded). If you have Unreal Tournament installed in ...
