Re: Vision statement for a new Unreal Tournament

My vision is simply a world of warcraft, or an everquest, clone using UT99 game dynamics and skins and feel.

Re: Vision statement for a new Unreal Tournament

And with these basics aside, I remind you what UT is at its core: an arena shooter with fast gameplay , based on competitive scoring in multiplayer. Adding a pve experience to this just doesn't work, it's pretty much the reason why Unreal and UT are separate games. No, it is NOT what it is at it's ...

Re: Vision statement for a new Unreal Tournament

Oh wow, I'm sorry to say, but that sounds like an absolutely atrocious idea, like "how to kill Unreal Tournalent 101", it's like the complete anihilation of anything Unreal Tournament, which is based on arena shooting with a given number of players to achieve a score. This is basically World Of War...

Vision statement for a new Unreal Tournament

I've seen some clips of the claimed successor to unreal tournament named open tournament alpha. I cannot say that i am impressed with what i have seen and i don't expect that "things will get better along the way". I do believe that the problem lies with not having a clear vision statement of what t...

Re: Epic: Future of Unreal Tournament

If they release UT1 code... i'm tempted to look into the idea of making an UT:MMORPG game based on UT1 dynamics.

Re: Epic: Future of Unreal Tournament

I won't be content because i can envision what the next "UT" should look like... A mix between FPS and MMORPG. I'm not sure something like that exists. WoW clones are just that, WoW clones. But take a realm like UT which is now usually small maps.. and give it a wide WoW-like environment, and levels...

Re: High ping when connecting locally

I changed the tick rate and it helped. But the ping was still 100+ I realized the real problem was the Thread Priority in task manager. By setting it at highest, i have a steady 12 ping and no issues. Is there a program or a way to start UCC with highest priority rather than using task manager? EDIT...

High ping when connecting locally

I run a server on my own machine. Then i start UT again (same folder) to connect to it (127.0.0.1) and the ping is high, between 50 and 150.

- With or without mutators
- client netspeed 10000
- server configured to netspeed 10000
- no packet loss

How can i reduce it to something like 0 ?
