Re: DM-AMC-2040 [WIP]

Oh man! Phantom 2040 was one of my first games on the Sega Genesis, really pleasant to see somebody pay such high class respect to it.

:tu:

Even the theme tune was banging for such poor sound quality

Re: Katsc'Ha Haven - An UnrealGold Singleplayer map PATCH 22

Sorry if I'm late in mentioning, but 227i is the latest public version of Unreal/Unreal Gold, there isn't much reason to use obsolete or outdated versions which are no longer supported.

Re: Davva Mountain Range (DM-Davva)

Gustavo, I haven't played the map in UT (I don't think that I currently have UT installed) but good job on the good looking outdoor geometry. If you're having BSP problems with this then there are some tricks you can use: 1. Make sure all verteces, even on the corners of nodes all rest on the grid. ...

Re: New mappers class?

I think saying that new mappers should simply stay away from mapping on any platform is pretty unhelpful for their communities WHO SAID THAT ? You are definitely lost at this point - actually very confused as well. Veterans are demanding to LEARN before posting trash for player's deceptions, compar...

Re: New mappers class?

I think saying that new mappers should simply stay away from mapping on any platform is pretty unhelpful for their communities, not only that but the development tools (Ued, etc) are not meant to be exclusive. I think that MMU just means that a novice mapper couldn't reach the skill or experience wi...

Re: Map Edit for anybody

That original reference (from whatever game it's from, didn't see where the game name was mentioned) looks like it was inspired by Lincolnshire Cathederal, a banging place situated in north east England.

Re: Textures with black borders

I'd have no clue for UT, but sadly masked textures are mostly integrated into their corresponding theme texture package .utxs', though there are some exceptions, like there are a few texturepacks which have alot of generalized masked textures, I think the cobwebs (on unreal anyway) and alot of other...

Re: Textures with black borders

Yeah, surfaces/sheets that are intended to be "masked", I think it doesn't function properly with .dds files (high resolution textures).

Re: Textures with black borders

Hi Xoleras,

I'm not sure about UT, but Unreal has a problem with masking .dds imported textures, whereas however alphablend works with .dds and I don't think works very well with normal indexed textures.

Unless this issue is renderer related, I had this problem with OpenGl, is that what you use?

Re: Questions regarding importing a skeletal mesh

Turns out the bonegroups had nothing to do with it, we eventually fixed the problem. Basically, skeletal meshes in Unreal (I'm not sure if UT counts for this too) can't have vertex weights with analogue values, and multiple bones cannot share a same vertex; weight painted vertexes must be fully attr...

Re: Questions regarding importing a skeletal mesh

*applause* 1) Welcome Kajgue 2) A non-UT question presented entirely as a UT question. I take my hat off to you sir :highfive: :P Thanks for the welcome, DrFlay. :) @Higor Thanks for the information, my response was a bit slow as we were trying to work some things out with importing the model. We h...

Questions regarding importing a skeletal mesh

Heya, This question is not related to UT, although from what I'm made aware, importing a skeletal model into UT as well as Unreal follow the same principals. I have exported the skeletal mesh as a .psk/.psa file from Blender, previously when a friend attempted to import it via the UCC.exe, the resul...
