Re: which is good program for make own video

I use Fraps, Avid Liquid 7 and Adobe After effects. However, both Avid Liquid and After Effects are very expensive software. If you're not making any professional video editing, I suggest you stick to Fraps and Windows Movie Maker. This way you don't have to dish out thousands of dollars for profess...

Re: Are you a mapper? Then read this!

This is going a bit off-topic, but yeah, I will be putting more detail into the map, but we're betatesting most of the SLV maps we're including in our community mappack to see whether the overall gameplay is any good and whether it causes any fps drops on regular not too high-end machines. Right now...

Universal Unreal - The Advanced UT99 Server Comms tool

In an effort to bring more people to the Strangelove gaming community which has thinned in ranks over the years due to series of drama, server hackings, ddosings, stupid rivalry, a coder from our community, MSuLL made a modification that would allow the players between our affiliate servers communic...

Re: Are you a mapper? Then read this!

From the architecture it looks very ok, I would only trim the walkway-cross part in the middle. Lighting is only testlighting so far? Yeah, the lights are temporary. I know the screenshot lacks some serious trims and stuff, but I really rushed the map for an online betatest. Currently only the midd...

WIP - SLV Map

You're a great mapper to me, but please, just look at every gametype best maps, and you will see that even plain maps are great. I am really sorry to say but even if I would make a funmap or instagib.. or a Monsterhunt map.. the visual aspects are very important to me. A minimum of graphics and det...

Re: We have made it into the beyondunreal Top 5 Downloads...

Oh geez, sorry about that. I'm usually a CTF player (and an amateur mapper for the Strangelove mod) and I instinctively wrote CTF-Kamah :D Yeah, performance was bad for me too, but I like to play offline UT botmatches from time to time and I really loved the map. Not to mention the inspiration you g...

Re: We have made it into the beyondunreal Top 5 Downloads...

Did not know where to post this, but http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bdYwqG91yT8 Kamah simply has to be the best UT99 map I've ever seen. This only shows that a talented mapper can use the limited resources of an old engine that surpasses some of the new games on the market in visual quality. Kamah s...

Re: Introduction

Yeah, that's what I've been told :P Since I'm still a newbie into mapping (a tad bit under 2 months), I don't know all the tricks of the trade yet, but luckily I got some good hints from a veteran mapper a few days ago. And also, one of the major motivations to sign up here was to learn something an...

Re: Solids and Semi-Solids

In a simple way: - Semi-solids don't make BSP cuts, they only receive BSP cuts; - Semi-solids can't get subtracted; - Best use of semi-solids: decoration and BSP errors solving - Semi-solids are faster processed and reduce node count However: - Semi-solids can cause big bad BSP errors when bad plac...

Introduction

Hello, My name is Madis. I'm an 18-year old student and assistant database manager. I'm also an Unreal Universe "faggot", or so to speak, and a Strangelove enthusiast. I've recently also started mapping for UT99 to contribute something to the long life of Unreal Tournament. So, what made me sign up ...

Re: Redeemer

I can't believe you guys prefer REDEEMER ARENA over THIS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sNQDLuhmSsg The SLV community is alive and kicking with 2 servers in USA (one always populated) and 3 populated servers in Europe. For crying out loud, this IS the shit, guys, come and give it a try. I can even ...
