Re: Mapping Concept for MonsterHunt, GIANT SIZED!

Before I got even around doing anything remotely code-related, there was no shortage of servers like that already, it's just that servers with high damage weapons had about the same amount of popularity as normal ones, so if you wanted the challenge, you would go for normal, and if you just wanted t...

Re: Rate of Fire Adjustment for NW3?

These WeaponBalanceBoard mutators were created exactly for this, to be able to adjust what is adjustable in the context of this mod (and even other mods, it works with other stuff too to some extent). There are some hardcoded things in the mod, but anything to do with fire rate, damage, etc (general...

Re: Mapping Concept for MonsterHunt, GIANT SIZED!

I personally like the idea of giant sized monsters, but by "giant" I mean maybe up to 10x the size of a normal titan at most, but as a "boss" kind of fight, with some of them spawning smaller minions of a different kind. And I don't mean them having 1M of health, that's kinda moronic as well (upping...

Re: Fog Zone

I hope in future UT 469 this CloudZone will get some fix... To not clutter this thread, could you elaborate more on this, namely which and how actors should be handled in a CloudZone here ? The ones that come to my mind are the spectators and CTF flags for instance, but I am sure you have a lot mor...

Re: Fog Zone

If that is what a cloud zone does, why would anyone use it? Probably it is intended to have projectiles shot into the sky vanishing instead of exploding at the map's border. This would also give the name a sense. Yep, that's exactly why they exist. The issue though is that they destroy everything, ...

Re: Unreal Tournament 469

That's not possible, unfortunately. It's not much of a matter of how files are loaded, but rather how packages are defined in this engine, and how they define dependencies and references to specific resources. Let's say that you have a Polaris.utx file, and you use a texture from that file in your m...

Re: Covid19 world status map

You can't have a ratio of mortality until you know how many people had-has the virus. Which you will never know for sure, just like for any disease of this kind, so what's your point? Even seasonal flu numbers are based on how many people actually go see a doctor in one way or another, however most...

Re: Covid19 world status map

https://i.imgur.com/9I6QCQL.png Don't get me wrong here, ofcourse it's really sad what happens. The problem with those comparisons is that they do nothing for anyone other than downplaying what is a serious problem at the moment. For one, that's comparing different timespans and seasons. For two, n...

Re: Covid19 world status map

At this point in time, there are only 2 types of people on this: those who take this seriously, and idiots. Even if you are the healthiest person on this planet, and your chance of quickly recovering from this disease is 100%, you're still a carrier for about 2 weeks, and if you don't treat it like ...

Re: Double weapons, or dual weapons?

The way the double enforcer works is by having one enforcer (master) controlling another separate enforcer (slave, it's literally called this way in the code: SlaveEnforcer ). Then everywhere the main enforcer does something, there's explicit code there to tell the other enforcer to do the same. To ...

Re: DM-RMC-CrossInfestation

Yeah, it's not really meant to be played with mods (especially NW3) since the map was tailored for normal weapons (the weapons the map has). This was just a simple experiment at a different kind of gameplay, something small, crazy, chaotic, something EvilGrins' style, since it's a map for his pack. ...

Re: Double weapons, or dual weapons?

I don't think something like that exists yet, but I imagine that it might be possible to do one by creating a proxy weapon that controls multiple ones at the same time (technically speaking). Would require lots of testing and tweaks quite likely, due to the mess UT already is on all regards concerni...

Re: CTF-Blice (Release)

Thank you very much for your review Swanky! :) CloudZones destroy everything, but I used my own in the map (a direct extension of CloudZone), so I just need to tweak it a little bit to not destroy flags and some other stuff. Hey Ferali, have you fixed the death clouds of greedy flag keeping yet? No....

Re: A question for the mappers...

1) CTF-Blice: by far where I put most work in a map, and despite some of its performance issues (even the lite version), it's still what I somewhat had in my head to build. 2) Pick any of the first 2 here: https://ut99.org/viewtopic.php?t=12769 or the 3rd if you meant a full original map. :lol2: 3) ...

Re: PHP UPackage

I'm glad it was that useful to you.

If I am able to someday (soon-ish) finally finish my current PHP framework, I may try to redo this PHP package properly (especially using specific PHP functions actually tailored to this sort of thing that I didn't know existed back then).
