Re: Covid19 world status map

The issue is rather how fast it is spreading instead of its mortality rate. The health systems aren't prepared to handle larger amounts of people suddently needing ICU care, and then the mortality rate will definitely skyrocket compared to now. Not speaking of the economic impact when whole companie...

Re: Unreal Tournament 469

I am absolutely aware that it is very easy to change that ID, using it for banning was never my intention. It's also clear that this feature is not backward compatible, but from my point of view it's up to the modder to handle that (we simply can not say now what his use case will look like and whet...

Re: Unreal Tournament 469

Same applies for the Nexgen ID right now. I don't see the requirement to bound it uniquely to the computer, this is possible via ACE's features. New functionality could use such an ID for new features which are comfortable for the client and therefore it is in the interest of the user to not share h...

Re: Unreal Tournament 469

Another proposal: Add an unique client identifier to 469. Something similiar to Nexgen's key + ID pair. Could be used for some convenient functionality...

Re: ICU playing

UniversalUnreal has such a feature. However, it's setup is based on a central web server where players register (and select buddies), and servers need to connect to that. It's more aimed at communities rather than complete UT. There's the issue of identifiying players. For vanilla UT, you can only ...

Re: Unreal Tournament 469

You should be able to contact anth on the UT99.org discord server. Edit: On topic. I have noticed that mods using subclasses of the UBrowserHTTPClient are unable to connect to https sites. I haven't looked deeper into it, i.e. this might be absolutely logical since there is probably no SSL/TLS suppo...

Re: ComboGib >GRAPPLE< Server <//UrS//> - We are back!

The only thing worth updating is that you know that these servers use fake players and play there regardless, the rest of my comment still holds.

Re: ComboGib >GRAPPLE< Server <//UrS//> - We are back!

I couldn't agree more with Sniper. Gonzales, you are the one who started this conversation, accusing players of aimbotting with absolutely no evidence (are you serious about stats screens? They tell nothing) and flaming about our server. As long as you don't show real evidence, e.g. a slowed down de...

Re: ComboGib >GRAPPLE< Server <//UrS//> - We are back!

Gonzales, you should remember that this game is 20+ years old and people who are still around have played probably a decade longer than you. I understand that playing against skilled players can be frustrating, but my advise to you is that you should leave the server in this case. And if you can't a...

Re: [Nexgen]Nexgen Advanced Ban Manager 1.02 [With ACE features]

I've actually got a version ready for the newest ACE version; however, I'm planning on splitting the ACE related features into a new plugin, also including a front-end for the client's ACE settings. Glad that there is still interest though :)

Re: Unreal Tournament 469

Yeah, Defrost (original author of Nexgen) implemented ServerAffiliates back then for his server. It more or less got leaked, there was no public release - for a good reason. But well, pandoras box is opened now so here we go. Using it is alright imo as long as that auto-favorite thing is not used ab...

Re: Unreal Tournament 469

On a side note: Are there measure planned to protect v469 clients from "intrusive" servers? I see two points which I would love to have taken care of: Manipulating favorites: Connecting to the wrong server can end up with your favorites being completely messed up (new servers added automatically or ...

Re: Unreal Tournament 469

Another aspect which I stumbled upon when messing around with Screenshots: The game appears to be unable to handle Textures with the same name but in different packages. You can see that in 2 instances: Import a texture via UnrealEd into a new package but name it like an existing texture. You will h...

Re: [Release] ACE v1.1f

I believe it's not trivial to detect cheats when the ACE client side library could be "hacked". Therefore disallowing modifications of such files appears reasonable to me.
