Re: Anyone want to Schedule a "get-together" ?

Why don't we set up a group on Steam or GOG Galaxy?
I realize not all of us play UT on Steam, but it's easy to add a non-Steam game and just use the Steam interface for chatting, etc.

Just an idea.

Re: Looking for CTF-SeasonOfPassage

Medor has it at http://medor.no-ip.org/index.php?dir=Maps/CTF/&file=CTF-FoT-Seasonsofpassage.zip Thank you. I received a PM earlier. A lot of helpful people on this board. According to FraG's page, it was part of the FoT packs at one point... but was withdrawn later :/ https://sites.google.com/site...

Of course! I'm actually only one state up from you, so timing wouldn't be too much of an issue :) I'm partial to camping servers because they're slow-paced and great to unwind to after a hectic day (although those maps require >5 players to be interesting). But I enjoy classic DM and CTF too.

Re: The Terrain Mapping Contest

You are the infuriating ass! Sorry, but you just made me so angry!!!! Mods please help. I need a cup of tea... No Gustavo, seriously, it's just you. What Hell Keeper said is correct, he's not the only one who thinks that way, your maps are bad and you're just wasting everyone's time. We don't have ...

Looking for CTF-SeasonOfPassage

This is a map by L.J. Paranoid (author of Croon, Croon][, Swoon, Tregeagle). I've seriously checked everywhere, and I've been through just about every website I know of that hosts map files. I don't think it's online anymore, and was wondering if any of you have it stored away somewhere :) All I rem...

Re: The Terrain Mapping Contest

I think we can forgive people if they do not use the terrain brushbuilders, as long as the outdoor areas are not flat. This is what makes this contest difficult for me. I've never bothered with terrain because I've always assumed that creating good terrain requires knowledge of an external 3D model...

Beautiful Map of staggering scope. Reminds me of Dm-Baal by Chicoverde. I can see how alignment would be a bitch. Nicely done guys!

Re: The Terrain Mapping Contest

I'm glad there are still active UT99 communities where contests like this can happen.

Terrain is difficult to manage, so here are a few video tutorials from Aalexanderrr on terrain creation:

Re: Mapping Contest '15: vote on rules

Has there been any sort of consensus yet? Terrain is cumbersome and it takes awhile to make it look convincing (that's my experience, anyhow), but I'm always up for a challenge. Let's get this thing started :)

Paper, although I haven't been the most active user around here, I'd still like to thank you for your commitment to the community.
Volunteers like you make the internet a more tolerable place. Now hurry up on that 512k contest mappack :)

Re: Screenshots

@Radi, if you don't want to leave the editor to take screenshots, at least hide the actors (right-click the top of the viewport, then Actors-->HideActors). Those screens would look a lot better without all of those apples and torches floating around. Just a suggestion :)

It's good to see more veteran mappers joining. Revelation, Rakiayn, and Swanky, I appreciate the hell out of your work. 8)
