Re: Soundz Thread ^_^ = post your favourite tunes

... april wine, triumph, reo ... thanks red_fist - good times :tu: Rik emmett very underrated guitarist Being canadian, i know the first two bands pretty well. Actually saw april wine a local fairground (ottawa canada) when I was in grade 9 (so that's early 70's). They had just released their first...

Re: Fixing Unreal1 maps for ut99

Ya know there were some other guys besides "J" that had interesting creative maps/catalogs - perhaps we should start a sort of mapping "history" thread for unique cool mappage ?

Re: Fixing Unreal1 maps for ut99

<begin minor rant> you guys have to keep in mind this guy "J" developed his maps for Unreal1, and sometimes these were for mods or used mods. The fact they mostly worked in ut99 is just the same thing the u1 product maps will work in ut99. I remember whenever i studied this "J" guys catalog (long lo...

Re: WIP CTF-EgyptSomething

nice pic - i thought of another one - DOM-Am-myt - by one of the TimeWarp guys - MisterRioes - i'm not sure if you remember him? This is not a TW map tho, but very well done egypt, imo. if you don't want to stray too far from the standard egypt look. here he has nice mix of trad and custom, a little...

Re: WIP CTF-EgyptSomething

hmm, egypt. I urge you to look at custom textures. Either whole themes or as detail art and trims, etc. Here's a few maps that use custom textures (based on ut2003/2004, ut2) in combination with some of the stock ut99 egypt textures. These levels are way beyond most ut99 egypt themed maps regarding ...

I absolutely agree. best to ask first - or at least attempt to. be prepared for blowback if you didn't ask the author
and he/she (or the IP owner) takes offense.

Re: Best Graphics Quality

heh heh - interesting experience - So that's laser-Tag. imo the smaller (newer) map was a bit better, not sure why. I tried them both with instaGib and just 3 masterful bots (which seemed about right) and yeah pretty tight in there. Of course that was expected given the nature/goal of the design. _I...

Re: Best Graphics Quality

If you run the latest renderers on UT, such as OpenGL or Direct3D 10 or 11, you should get pretty good graphics quality. Nice looking map, btw. Looks like it'd be good for games using the Instagib mutator or even the Shock Rifle Arena mutator. definitely one of the two. Laser-tag == InstaGib in my ...

Re: Best Graphics Quality

Welcome - regarding graphic quality. As an alternative, there is OpenGL. Did you try that one? If not then you should give it a look - I have a (GTX970) and OpenGL definitely looks better than D3D on my monitors (BENQ). That said brightness adjustment (f11) sadly does not work when OpenGL in win10. ...

Re: Seeking CTF, does this sound familiar?

hmm CTF-DMUT-LostValley ... you know there's no brushes in that map? 2020-03-29_13-47-19.jpg you might be able to do your monster thing as long as you don't try and rebuild geometry or lighting... i'm not sure whether paths can be re-built without brushes... i think so, but you'd have to try it. you...

Tracking: Canadian covid19 portal, the global section shows slightly bigger picture.
Some of this stuff you've probably seen already, some data perhaps not.

Something you can do: - select one at a time using the "Search for actors" window (binoculars icon on the top tool-bar) - enter name "multi", they will all be listed. - choose the first one by double-clicking the name. note it is selected even if you can't see it. - confirm it is selected by clickin...
