FNB All Good Things BETA Feedback

New BETA map coming shortly - Still W.I.P. Will post the LINK once the package is ready :) ------------------------ BETA-1 : ------------------------ Focus of this beta will be mainly gameplay/pickups, etc. I'm not too sure whether the lower or outside routes are worth keeping. They divert from the ...

Re: steady rising mover + attached killzone + sheet for visualization = possible?

Ferali, that explanation of "how to" is just fantastic! Sure sounds like it is doable - PaperCoffee, you should go ahead and try your map ideas - never mind that the concept is already done in other games elsewhere. If you wanted to make a game-type map-pack for this I'll volunteer to contribute a m...

Re: FNB 20AC mapping stuff

I'll put a quick update here, since this is a related thread... Not really a 20-AC map any more but wth :P Still WIP (mostly lighting tweaks, and adding decrorations, etc. Sounds and audio will be last - gameplay will be completed before I add sounds). Map is done enough to start play-testing ... Ru...

Re: CTF-Blice (Release)

well I'll have to check my notes regarding painzone, but im pretty sure that was the practice at unreal playground for years by all the ctf mappers there, to fix the exact problem of flags getting stuck when dropped into pits, etc. it happened all the time especially with new mappers. maybe cloudzon...

Re: CTF-Blice (Release)

iirc, make sure the zone where the flag falls has painzone set to true.
that property will cause the flag to return after a small time delay.

Re: CTF-Blice (Release)

Wow. quite a piece of work ferali! Wonderful theme and very well realized. Played some matches with 5 vs 5 and although straight forward gameplay it works pretty well for CTF. This is a "very-high-poly" map with some pov where polygons can hit 1200+ in high-visibility areas (stat fps), thus overall ...

Re: FNB 20AC mapping stuff

It seems to me that "Windows 10 era" has not been playing too Nice with my GPU and UT99 graphics drivers - OpenGL becomes unstable at times. No "silver bullet" definitive fixes either. While D3D9 seems to function in a more stable manner, it definitely does not look as good as OpenGL. Especially tra...

Re: Help! my ut99 is very sick :(

thanks guys... some things: I checked the folders closely and discovered something scary in the system folder --> unealtournament.exe, setup.exe, ucc.exe + all driver dlls (d3d, sgl, opengl, etc.) were GONE! Nothing in recycle bin, either. Something removed them. Just the exes and dlls, not the ini ...

Help! my ut99 is very sick :(

so i had some time for ut today and downloaded / installed this 20ac mappack. i was going to post my opinions regarding the new maps but after a while my ut99 became competely trashed. it is now broken. starting with opengl, something (i think it was healing pyramid) just crashed the map selector po...

Re: ==[ The 20th Anniversary Mapping Contest - 20AC ]==

well thats it. no map from me. ran out of time to do mapping and the map needs a good 10-20 more hours to be of acceptible quality. i'm on holidays into January so good chance i'll release it then. no big loss, anyways - there's plenty of decent maps in the comp and pack that i see... hope to get a ...

Re: ==[ The 20th Anniversary Mapping Contest - 20AC ]==

So bonus maps are due 22nd at midnight? That's 3 days after today, right? Okay, so for my map here, i'm gonna switch it from CTF to DOM+DM. So it will become a medium-ish FFA map. I'll test with 3, or 4 points. Simply because the "long view" is always a problem in UT99 for higher detail maps, and ha...

Re: ==[ The 20th Anniversary Mapping Contest - 20AC ]==

damn! not done yet - i ran out of time - so i'm out :) so hopefully "CTF-20AC-eXP" will arrive as a bonus map - time allowing. *** Thought about submitting one of my nearly done beta maps instead, like fallen angel, liandri towers, or one of a dozen others but decided no, i won't do that because it ...

Re: FNB 20AC mapping stuff

hmm... brushes are complex yes, but nothing all that crazy, imo - everything's under control now - Thankfully :) I am thinking DOM now, rather than CTF ... Then I worry only about "one side", rather than having to duplicate a 2500 brush base :P Same thing happened with simplex back in 2006, iirc. DM...
