Re: Looking for someone to help make a "lite" version of New

If you use NN with BT then none of your records will be valid. The minute you allow clients to have say on their location over what the server thinks it should be you'll have a bunch of people cheating the record times. Hacked NN client packages used to come out nearly as fast as the initial releases.

I can't believe you are still thinking about this.

Re: brush importing formats in UEd 2.0

I know it would take a good while but you should put all your historical knowledge into story form and post it. No one knows anywhere near as much as you.

Brush hacking post at OU

This was posted by a new member at OU named mcfarrel. It's an interesting read. (I cleaned up some of the sentences and spelling in case this gets copied around) Checking some old UrealEd2 Wikis I run into interesting finding of Editor Commands usable for Brush replication and how these work. When i...

Re: Possible trap on a case sensitive file system

"Redirect has nothing to do with above problem" then spend the rest basically rehashing what I replied as being the answer :lol2: If you are savvy enough to be running Linux then you are already versed on the wonderful world of case sensitivity and you should expect this to be a consistent problem. ...

Copy the brush over to notepad and see if the original texture reference is still there?

Re: What's with Nali5 in CTF-Face?

That was my first thought. I'd bet they were there to gauge size and dimensions in some sort of builder room that's since deleted. It's an easy miss if you mass-select the whole room to delete and it doesn't grab a couple of actors.

1- Sure, I'll just download and run an exe from someone I don't know.
2- People still waste HD space on UT3? Is it even played?
3- Paypal? Boo. Look around, no one asks for money.

Re: Possible trap on a case sensitive file system

Yeah I can for sure confirm this. Years back it was Herm that showed me this issue and how to fix the redirect so it wouldn't be a problem. I'll be honest that it took a while for me to understand the why part, I just knew that having the alternate case versions on the redirect solved the problem. I...

Re: Help with structs

Just to follow up and close this thread... As per the usual I was overthinking things and that's why I stayed so confused. The checks were a mixture because I didn't think that you could check for a class name (like 'AssaultInfinity' for example) dynamically in an if(Other.IsA(CheckedWeaponName )) w...

Re: Help with structs

No better way to learn than failing and understanding why. This, 100 times over. It's the thing that keeps me coming back. Thank you for doing it this way. PD: If you want to use DynamicLoadObject for making the mutator's replacement INI/INT changeable, use it to precache all replacements in one of...

Re: Help with structs

Thank you Higor. This is what happens when I don't research a function all the way to the end and just assume it to be correct as it is given. I appreciate your pointing it out. And the second time....Oh, and the third too :lol2: You remind me of my dad (in a very good way). Dane, I could use Stuff ...

Help with structs

I've been messing with something for the last few days but it's pissing me off that I can't work it out. It's got to be something simple I'm just overlooking. The issue: I have a bunch of maps in my coop server that I need to dynamically replace certain weapon classes. They were imported/converted M...

Re: Epic games releases...spyware?

I'm honestly stunned that you guys feel this way, especially concerning civil rights. Do you really think it's fine to let a government just arbitrarily decide what's considered punishable speech without a public discussion? What your rights are as a citizenry? Go back in our long, dark history and ...

Re: Epic games releases...spyware?

So I'm honestly curious about something... What would the evidence need to be that would cause you to have concern? (to anyone) I think it's that I just lived in an era where there was an expectation of privacy. That's obviously over because every time you open a news feed there's a social media com...
