Re: Linux UT Server

For the record, I keep updating the tutorial on http://wiki.333networks.com/index.php/Tutorial:UT_Installation_On_Linux and will not paste this link at every post in this thread. Changes can be found in the view history tab. Would it also include making backup/rotational logs that is useful for find...

Re: Linux UT Server

Would it also include making backup/rotational logs that is useful for finding errors and such? We can make it as crazy as possible. It would help to have a few people join the wiki and make placeholder pages for things we should write tutorials on. It would help even more if a few people here want...

Linux UT Server

A while ago I promised that I would write a tutorial about installing linux on an old computer to run a dedicated UT server. I posted a first draft on the 333networks wiki: http://wiki.333networks.com/index.php/Tutorial:UT_Installation_On_Linux This is perhaps also a good moment to invite people to ...

Re: How to Rent a Server

It wouldn't hurt to have this tutorial ...if you have time for it of course. One tutorial coming up... (will edit/post later with link). At the risk of hijacking this thread, anyone with an old computer/laptop willing to test if my tutorial is accurate/correct and accessible for people to understan...

Re: How to Rent a Server

There is another consideration that I would like to add. I was never a real fan of "professional" hosting; quotes, because "corporate" hosting does not imply "professional" hosting. If you have an internet connection with more than 50kbps upload (not kidding) and an old PC (64MB ram/500Mhz or more),...

Re: How to join an IP server? And what servers?

Hi blade11, In short: open the console with ~ (tilde) and type "connect 71.21.x.x.x". After you press [Enter], it will connect you to the server of which you just entered the IP. Another way to do this is by clicking "Multiplayer" and then "Open Location". A new box appears in which you can enter th...

Re: UT99 Server Query

At the risk of digging up old posts, what I get so far from the (source) code and the program itself is that Shvonder attempted to write a server browser list/client in MS Visual C++ and decided to share the code here. He can browse and query servers, but all servers need to be entered manually. If ...

Re: my UT/Unreal days may be behind me: MAJOR ERROR

It's a good habit to clean your PC outside the house if the weather allows it. But your screenshot suggests that this is more than a bit of dust. There is another way to find out whether it's a software problem or a hardware problem: download an ubuntu (or other linux distro) live disk and run it as...

Re: Where do I go now that Gamespy is down?

(..) the 333 networks site says connection failed and that I need the latest patch. I still don't understand how it can say I'm successfully bound to those master servers, and not show up on the internet lists. I'm not sure what you mean with 333networks saying that you need the latest patch. I nev...

Re: Where do I go now that Gamespy is down?

If you want to check if the heartbeat was successfully sent out, try finding your server ip in http://master.333networks.com/g/ut You can also try adding your server manually with http://333networks.com/new If that doesn't work, or if it says that the server seems offline, the problem is indeed with...

Mandatory update: http://git.333networks.com/MasterServer-Perl/commit/?id=v2.0.8 Beta Masterserver v2.0.8 for UT, Unreal and other UE1-based games that supports both Postgresql and SQLite. This beta version is thus far ready that I hope that a few of you give it a shot and see if it runs bug-free. I...

Listen in the car,
listen on phone,
listen in the gym,
listen on mp3-player,
listen while working,
listen while <insert any activity>.

At least, that's why I am interested :)

Re: unreal gold

just a thought ... but perhaps provide a masterServer for UnrealGold as well.. ;) It may just have slipped through, but isn't Unreal Gold already supported by the 333networks masterserver? As far as I know, it uses identical queries as Unreal and UT. It should be able to get servers that way. Cross...
