Re: Extra Team Colors v1

Yeah, I tried double clicking on the exe, but then it closes almost immedietely. Dragging the exe into a blank command prompt helps with that, but then I'd have to worry about using directories for images and etc, and I feel like it kinda gets complicated because of that as someone who isn't super f...

Re: Extra Team Colors v1

So I don't know if those of you who downloaded this noticed, but I was looking at the skins and I noticed that some of them have a couple of bad artifacts from how they were indexed. I heard that there was a program called Bright that does a better job at that sort of thing than most image editing s...

Re: I'm working on a layout for a forest map, I may need adv

I can see where you're coming from with this, though one issue with this is that it won't be as easy to tell what the exact boundaries of the map are, especially since the sheets aren't connected together. I guess if I were to go with this technique, I'd have to use a fence instead. I could also mak...

Re: I'm working on a layout for a forest map, I may need adv

Do you think you could come up with a quick example of that, so that I can visualize what you're describing better? I get the sense that you're suggesting using a tree model and then placing a bunch of them and rendering them together as another texture. I do want to have at least some depth to the ...

Will a quick video do? That's what I'm working on at the moment.

Re: Tutorial: Converting Blender models into UED2 brushes

I'd also read through this thread. Some of the posters in there are probably more knowledgable about this sort of thing than I am.

Tutorial: Converting Blender models into UED2 brushes

Someone on here messaged me about making a tutorial on how to export models from Blender into UED2 as brushes, but unfortunately I hadn't noticed until around 5 months. I figured I may as well get this taken care of asap. Resources: Blender ASE Exporters For older versions of Blender (latest is 2.5)...

Re: I'm working on a layout for a forest map, I may need adv

I just thought about something: if this map ends up being a floating island instead, you can do a lot of things with it. First and foremost, this means the map will probably get a lot more stable BSP-wise, since you no longer depend on subtractive mapping, you do additive instead. This also means t...

Re: I'm working on a layout for a forest map, I may need adv

Yeah, I was thinking about doing some sort of cave system. That alone probably isn't going to solve the verticality issue, but it's one thing I'm considering.

Oh yeah, speaking of cliffs, I could probably have a high-risk-high reward item on top of one.

Re: I'm working on a layout for a forest map, I may need adv

I decided to remake the layout based on papercoffee's advice. http://i.imgur.com/u862npM.png Although, I may have underestimated how big some of the areas are in comparison to the thinner pathways (Which are mostly around 512 units wide). I think I may need to figure out how to execute the high risk...

Re: I'm working on a layout for a forest map, I may need adv

The only thing I advise for you to do is to use an actual 3rd party 3D modeler to build the terrain at least, like Blender for example. It will be far easier to handle, and it will become incredibly stable BSP-wise once you import it back to UEd. I was planning on doing something like that, especia...

I'm working on a layout for a forest map, I may need advice

I'm a bit familiar with UED2, though I haven't really done many actual deathmatch maps, just test maps. I feel like it's time that I attempt to be serious about making a deathmatch map. Although the project might end up being a bit ambitious and out of the scope, so I may need to start with somethin...

Re: I made a terrain model in Blender and brought it over to

I was interested to put this as a part of a MH map... but NOPE. You forgot this: I will check how does it support re-building... I mean, if you really want to use the map, it shouldn't be too hard to disable the reflections. You just need to select the su...

Re: I made a terrain model in Blender and brought it over to

Great work. Also big compliment to your skybox, love it! :D Thanks! Also, I updated the map a bit. I made some new tree textures and a fake forest shadow texture for the area for the ground area that's occupied by the trees. http://imgur.com/ALRhsZ1.jpg http://imgur.com/Ah9DvhK.jpg http://imgur.com...
