Elon face

Post by Baardman »

not sure i wanted to open a new topic but also dont want to post to much in Evil grins topic. better would be in "skins in progress" but noone posted there for 10 years.

i updated the Elon Musk face to be more neutral and remove unwanted texture and better alignment, i could still add the smile onto this maybe. and ideally make a body skin. was busy with another project for Turok 2 this weekend so i only spent a short amount of time on this.

if you want to take this face for your own skin you are free to do so btw,

this is the ols post of Inpu where i posted my original Elon skin

Tried making Tim Sweeney today. i think the texture of receeding hairline Evilgrins gave me is not working out. Compared to the putin skin it looks worse and the hairpatch is to close to the front somehow. i think i will make the hairline myself just like putin but better. then i can use that on all skins tht have receeding hair.

You have to edit the hair color to match, even the skin tones and whatnot.

Im not sure if it wil look nice even then.
Someone gave me a nice tutorial on how to edit the vertex animated models with 3dsMax and U3dbinread.
Ideally i would like to edit the headshape so the hairline on the front is flatten down.

For instance nowadays this days this tutorial teaches how to edit the models with 3dsMax and UnrealEd.
i could make Macron or other worldleaders first who have hairline first anyway. Or if anyone has a request.

Btw. The guy said im not writing a tutorial but he basicly already did. Might come in handy to have this written down somewhere

Code: Select all

They’re different enough that I wouldn’t blame someone for not considering them.

As for working with the PC models, these are your options:
-There’s Z-Enzyme’s method if you’re a 3ds Max user: https://discord.com/channels/348029403659370496/727497199554003084/996928881330233524
-You can do something similar in Blender by directly importing the .3D files with Skywolf’s plugin
-Lastly, you could use EA’s DemBones tool to convert the vertex model to skeletal, with the caveat that the resulting skeleton won’t have an actual hierarchy: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPClVefzoxI

I'm not feeling up to writing a full blown tutorial, sorry.

Export the model you want in .3d format with UE Viewer or the 227 editor.
Get U3dbinread by yrex: https://www.geocities.ws/yrex/mojunreal/U3Dbinread.zip
Pick the 3 dots to the right of Anim and select your _a.3d file. The data file will be added automatically. Press open to load the model.
Go to the .OBJ files tab and pick save all frames (put them in a new folder)
Get a file renamer like Bulk Renaming Utility to rename the OBJs so the names only consist of the frame number, starting with 0.obj
Copy frame 0 and rename the copy to come after the last frame
Get OBJ loader: https://web.archive.org/web/20180209204449/http://andye.myweb.hinet.net/maxscript_1.html
Run the script in 3ds Max, go to the create tab, and pick Scripted Primitive, then pick ObjLoader and place it in the scene
Pick import sequence OBJ file, then pick frame 0
Add a Cloth modifier to the OBJLoader primitive
Pick Object Properties, select the OBJLoader primitive in the list, check Cloth, press OK
Expand the Cloth modifier and select Group
Select all the vertices, pick Make Group, keep the name, pick Preserve
Go back to the Cloth modifier, press simulate, then press Create Keys when it finishes
Drag the last frame (the copy of the first frame you made earlier) to frame 0. The cloth simulation removes the first frame for some reason, so this bring it back.
Now you have a fully animated vertex mesh in 3ds Max

You can also follow what Z-Enzyme did here, for the OBJ Loader part: https://youtu.be/VhGx4ZwUA0E

i will post any faces on Moddb from now on to avoid any problems/discussions since they are political and controversial.

https://www.moddb.com/mods/controversia ... #mediaform

so if anyone wants to use them for theirs skins they can find them there. i probably make some skins packages myself but i will focus on faces first.

The face of Andrew Tate you made comes with a completely bald head. I may attempt a Gray Alien skin at some point, was planning to use that by removing all color and matching it a face I'm adapting.

What you might want to try at some point is hands. Most hands in game are gloved, there's very few skins with bare uncovered hands. Only set I have came from a Superman skin Chris Ollis made.

Good point. I might add a version with and without hair also. made some world leaders reqeusted earlier last night and posted them on Moddb, not sure if they are visible as im new to that site. I made Netanyahu with full grey hair and i think it looks better then trying to make it look like receding in the texture. I could try that with Putin also.

I see a Putin face in the screenshots but not in the selection of controversial faces.

Any new ones in the mix? Seems to me there's more world leaders than those up there.

i dont know, i cant think of any, i want to be able to create player/models ( non political ones ) but that will take some time, i think its easier to make them for UT2004 because you dont need any scripting knowledge. i think its possible to edit existing vertex models with some 3dsMax plugin but its very tricky and time consuming. i also had to much fun with Gmod because alot of things i wanted to create already exist. i think UT99 already has alot of cool models, i stumbled on that guy from American Psycho that had a custom skin for the Jedi custom model where the lightsaber was mad into a knife. would be a fitting model also to make Rick astley but again it also already is availble for Gmod ( sorry for the haters mentioning that but its never played it before so its all new for me) im also looking into 3d modeling for 3d printing as a new hobby.
