Jack is right, however I checked this forum, and perhaps about 75% of the bots are russian, but the others are from the most diversified and different places (didn't found any chinese one).

A mandatory question seems to be a better solution indeed, but now it's up to Shade do something since he's the guy with full powers over the whole forum (even if we banned a small range of russian IPs, there's the other 25% of bots which are from elsewhere, and Shade has to woke up and do something, after all it would be quite simple for him to fix this I believe).

Well, i dont care of those bots are russian/chinese/USA/Netherlands or whatever country they come from. Spambots are spambots, they do there work spamming... its just most annoying

In other wods i dont get it why there is a problem with russians...

If I consider it just mosty intended as an announcement. I did not expect such a lively discussion. As long Shade won`t lift a finger the situation will not change for a while.

Why doesn't Shade appoint some extra administrators to handle the forum?
If something happens (like this) we're al dependable on 1 administrator (who isn't around all the time) and in worse cases everything could just collapse/disappear, because it's hanging on a thin line of 1 admin.

First of all, I'm not the only admin here. I'm just the only person who has access to the serverfiles.
@Ferali: About reCaptcha... it's shit. :P Spambots are good enough to break it.

I changed the Captcha Settings and ENABLED the registration again!

My words: Inspect and adapt! It's the best way to handle such situations. Better than overreacting. ;)

@Team: Further discussion will go on in internal rubric.

Idk how the permissions here are, but only an administrator can acces the ACP in standard values so... and I only see you in the administrator list and the rest are moderators :)
Anyway good that you fixed it ^^ :gj:

Because they have the moderator group as their standard group. But as you maybe know, you can be in multiple groups. :)

The link in the first post does not work. But it's good to hear that the possibility to register is enabled again.

Sure, bots are not cool anymore. :)
I've recently read some article (in my language, sry) about the captcha bypass. The article was focused on unblockable way of spamming - on the people. I've read, that you can (on this site for example) just hire a few hundreds of poorly paid people from India and they will read the captchas for you. That costs just about 2 USD for a thousand of captchas!
There is no way to avoid the spam. :?
