[Finished] Maintenance at 7pm UTC+2, 28.09.

Dear Community,

UT99.org is moving to another host today at 7pm UTC+2. This process may take several hours (including loading the new DNS zone information). The board will be in maintenance mode for this time period.

Because moving to another host means getting a new ip address, it may be possible that you will be unable to open ut99.org even when it's up again.
In this case, you need to clear your DNS cache. To do this, open the console via typing "cmd" in the windows search. Then type "ipconfig /flushdns" in the console and press Enter. (I guess Linux and Mac OS X users will also find out how they can do it. :P)
Clearing the browser cache won't hurt, too.

With the new host, the running costs for UT99.org will decrease to 5,90 Euro / 7,48 Dollar per month. Big step! :tu:

Thank you for your patience and please report any problems in this thread you may experience.

Best regards,
Shade

Just a kind note, looks like you forgot to adjust the default page to "http://ut99.org/portal.php" as it was before. Besides that, good work, and thank you for keeping this place running!

Oh thanks for the hint, fixed.

@Chamberly What do you mean? I've wrote the notice just today. :)

Ah. I was at work when you wrote that and stuff. I thought you might give a 1 day notice, might be a good idea before I get a panic attack.... xD

It truly was a day of juggling sites and domains !
We have lost 1 post from Jack in the process, as an automated email escaped from the test domain, sending him to the wrong site :(
We were giving the site a test with doing some common tasks, and one of them triggered a thread notification.

My apologies Jack, and thanks so much for the PM and suggestions.
Thankfully I ran screaming into the staff section and shouted stop, before we triggered anything else.

Yeah, I'm glad I immediately PM'ed you when things didn't look right. You guys were able to head off any problems at all, though it was neat to be able to watch from the sidelines as you went through the testing. Hope it didn't bother you guys.

All in all it was a well-done move. Painless and seamless from our end
