Most common custom maps in 2000
I guess 'custom map' is the term for maps outside of official bonus packs? I remember downloading UT maps from planetunreal.com in 2000, but I didn't keep the maps. However, I would like to play them again, I just don't know which maps I actually had. I revisited planetunreal.com, which unfortunately doesn't have screenshots of the maps. What would be the most efficient way to browse through common maps made in the first years of UT? Probably I could tell from screenshots where I've been, so to say. It has to be a site which has existed a long time, features screenshots and lists maps by date (Mapraider doens't list maps prior to 2002, for example).

Most of the major players in the hosted files game are sadly gone now. Aside from mapraider there are only a few browse-able databases like that and they mostly cater to specific mods (destination Unreal comes to mind, great map downloads section but limited to monsterhunt).

I also Downloaded a bunch from FilePlanet/PlanetUnreal back then.
I still have most if not all of those maps.
I only downloaded good ones for the most part - or ones I thought may be good.
So I do not have ALL of them.
Some of my maps were in there at FilePlanet also!
One (my first map) was one of the top 10% Map Downloads for UT on FilePlanet/PlanetUnreal.
In fact, it had about 15,000 downloads between several DL sites last I looked years back.
It was DM-FragginsteinCastle.
This map was my first and was actually used in some Big Sponsored Pro Tournaments years ago (Cash Prizes)!
So was LuXoR in some lesser tournaments.
There were also 2 others of this map name or this was 1 of 3 in a series of 3 maps.
I also made CTF-LuXoR and CTF-Moribund back then after Fragginstein.
I also made some others that came later.
My maps were also at NaliCity and also a number of other File DL sites.
If anybody wants some - just let me know.

15k DLs for a map? Wow, times have surely changed. Today this is completly unthinkable... not even the complete utr pack will reach this dl count... maybe in 20 years.

I have a lot of maps. Is there some way to go through all the maps and extract the preview image ? Using a script or a util of some kind ?
