Quick advice about hosting a LAN

Hey, how's it goin' guys? As my post count wonderfully states, I'm new to this forum. I know it's rude to start out with requests, but could anyone give me some advice on what I should download to add to a LAN party? I figure we will be doing 3v3 CTF and maybe some deathmatches. Is it worth it to d/l Strangelove? Is there any program available that will help me run a LAN easier? Got any map suggestions?

I figure this may have been asked before and I didn't use the search function. I'm sorry if it's redundant, but I've gotta beef up my post count somehow..

when making a lan game you need to make sure that you add the server pack which is the .u files in the system folder,thus you'll be able to start a lan game and people can your mods

mak esure you dedicate the server and enable webadmin so you can manage it.. and also download the 451 patch
