Hello everyone, im new on UT99
Been playing alot UT99 for years, but mostly in Single Player tho. or in Lan with friends.
I tried several time to logon public dedicated server and I always have to download TONS of stuff (Most of the time, once it's done I can't even log in) and even small files takes long to download.
Let's say I downloaded a map from a dedicated server like... Example "Castle2K16_DM" and let's say I enjoyed it. When im looking inside of my UT99 folder the map is not there.
So I'd love to know and get the biggest and latest map pack ever made for UT99, I don't mind having 3000 maps, even if some aren't that great. But atleast I'll have all of them and planty of new choice and maps to play and try on.
I tried to find on some other UT99 website, forums... But most links doesn't exist anymore, there's a website with lots of maps, but I don't want spend 2 weeks (or more) to download them 1 by 1.
So what you guys would you recommand to do to someone with a fresh n' updated UT99 copy.
Which mods to get? Which maps to get? Any custom patch to allow 1920x1080x32, High Res+, etc.?
Thank you very much for stopping by and reading me !
Looking forward to hear from you

If you downloaded files from the server, they should be in your Cache folder.

Re: [Question] Any good packs ?
lol, hi ^-^
it seems u like to ask for the same thing in every game. :p
No, i don't have mods for u right now. the mods i use are hard to install because they are still in open beta. (Excessive Unreal 2.)
EDIT: also, tweak your graphics. go to this topic:

Use the OpenGL renderer, i recommend it a lot!
Do not put the High res textures, i don't like them IMO.

Re: [Question] Any good packs ?
Bit surprising that, if you have been playing for years, you have not built up a collection of maps.
However, recommending maps is difficult as don't know what gametypes you play and opinions on the quality of maps vary in any case
If you want to get huge packs, why not do a Google search for torrents?
I would suggest a more selective approach though. First check out http://www.mapraider.com/maps/unreal-tournament which gives a screenshot and description for each map (http://www.utzone.de/forum/downloads.php?do=cat&id=1 also does this). There are a number of map repositories - apart from ut-files.com, check out http://ut.noccer.de/, http://medor.no-ip.org/index.php?dir=Maps/, http://www.oldunreal.com/downloads.html, http://www.lonebullet.com/maps/?q=unrea ... nt&x=0&y=0, https://ut.rushbase.net/gtombstones/ut99, https://ut.rushbase.net/beyondunreal/nalicity and http://ut99maps.gamezoo.org - some have Map Packs pages. There are other sites in addition to these, of course - check out the Obscure Websites thread on this forum for lists of links.
Search this forum or simply read through all of the appropriate topics and threads - Mapping and Downloads are good places to look where there will be reporting of good maps. For example, there was a recent discussion on Quality Outdoor Maps which contains lists of this type of map.
Having found maps you like, go through the read-mes and, if they contain lists of maps produced by the author, download them and try them out.
So some suggestions of what you can do - do it gradually and selectively rather than all at once - that way you get to play a few at time rather than having a couple of thousand untried and unplayed maps - part of the fun of this game is stumbling upon fun and obscure maps.
As for mods, well the choice is vast. Some of the sites noted earlier have pages for mods/mutators - http://www.moddb.com/games/unreal-tournament/mods is a good starting point, but also check out the releveant threads/topics on this forum. Visit MrLoathsome's site http://ecoop.tk/load/ for much excellent stuff.

Feralidragon made this amazing weapons pack called Nali Weapons 3 which is a must have. There's several threads for it in this forum...

Good map to use it on · http://unreal-games.livejournal.com/106946.html
papercoffee made =Food Fight= · viewtopic.php?f=34&t=6297 · which a hell of a lot of fun too!

Ah, NW3, it's very high poly though, it can slow down the PC quickly because of the explosions but if you have a good enough pc, then don't worry.
If you don't like high poly things in a old game, then do not download, i like the low poly things.
Maybe try NW1, which is hard to find sadly.
