Ut 99 need only directx 7 i tought.
That in combination with win xp or older will do the trick and maby ut 99 will be fast again i think.
Becouse it was orginali written for windows 98 or win 2000 back in those days.
That in combination with 2 gb of memmory will do the trick for ut 99.
dude i got 16gb ram
a gpu with 6gb vram
i7 4790k 4.7ghz...

i can install xp again but can i config ut/To to work with ny hardware?
Yes especialy for that i,m building a new computer with older hardware with windows xp installed also.
So mine must build computer is awaithing a proper videocard and a new computer case.
Good for me ill have a second hand motherboard with agp on it so i can install the older videocards from that era.
So i did a quick peak for the graphiccards and they are all worth a ton of money thinking on 3df x voodoo videocards and the tnt and tnt 2 videocards.
Yesterday a saw a 6600 gt videocard mint in a box for less money.
I,m making this build for miself to look how fast ut99 runs onit with 2 gb of memmory.
There is a new word in town called vintage.

Virtual Box/machine? Likely an easier option than a parallel install.

Was. XP was outstanding for a long time, but I can't say I miss it.

I have an old Win98 SE machine in my office, just for the "purist" Unreal/UT experience: P3 "Coppermine" 800MHz, GeForce 3 64MB, 512MB RDRAM on an Asus P4T-533 (32 bit, not the "-C" which was 16 bit) with a 17-inch CRT. Fun to use from a particular point of view, but those old OSs are tough to go back to.

Just like carbon said you can run a virtual machine just like vm ware workstation.
And you can choose any os you like and install the ut99 on that virtual machine.
Or it is for testing purposes, you can troubleshoot ut 99 from there.
You can handle amassive 8 gb for the installed os on the virtual machine sinds you machine has 16 gb of memmory.
If you go over the 4gb you need a x 64 os for running properly.

https://my.vmware.com/web/vmware/info?s ... n_pro/12_0

choose you os!

https://winworldpc.com/library

and be amased.
Microsoft has also a virtual pc envirement.

https://www.microsoft.com/nl-nl/downloa ... px?id=3702

happy installing.

I didn't read it all, but do you run a double monitor setup? (or more monitors?)
I noticed that the mouse skips sometimes when rotating when running UT fullscreen while using 2+ monitors. It is fixed by either going to 1 monitor setup or going into windowed mode.

Yes windows will run in a window, you can set that windows in full screen mode, and you can hide the title bar from vm ware workstation pro.
You can go online also.
I have a virtual machine running also from windows 10, later on this day or tomorow ill try to install ut 99 on it.
I dont know if you can run a dvd statiuon also on this software otherwise ill have to make iso,s from ut and install from there.
you can edit the amount of memmory also how much processors and how big your harddrive must be also.
you can run any os ,you can run Linux windows, every os you like.
you can move the cursor from the mouse with control alt within workstation pro.

Then connect to one monitor only or try running UT in windowed mode.

I tell you a little story...
No, you can't play UT now ...Grandpa is telling about the war... sit down and shut it.

I had once a Laptop from Fujitsu Siemens (Yeah, who would buy such a abomination, but it wasn't my decision it was bought by the company I worked for). On this machine was Vista installed (Yeah, again a bad decision).
Now... I am a graphic artist and worked with Photo Shop CS4. It's the standard in my industry and a must for professional graphics. There is no other alternative if you want to achieve a certain quality.
The problem was, everything worked "fine", except for PS. If I wanted to select something to cut it out or to move it, could I drag the selection square ...and now I could go take a coffee, talk to the co-workers or smoke a cigarette. It took nearly 3 minutes till the Laptop reacted. Everyone was puzzled and we thought about many possible solutions and source of the problem.
Nothing worked ...I got a massive slowdowns (It didn't freeze up entirely) when ever I used polygon based tools
After a week of many failures and crap fixing attempts, I got the idea to google my specs + PS CS4 + Vista.
And you know what, the combination of Windows Vista with my build in graphic card was known to create problems in Photo Shop ...freezing, slowdowns, crashes.
I got finally my solution.
After I installed XP on this crappy laptop could I use PS without problems... even so XP used only one core, worked everything perfect again.

My advice ...google your specs + UT99 + Win10 and look if other people have the same problem.
Look for direct-X and your graphic card running under Win10. You can't be the only one.

ill update later today once i finished install everything how the game/pc work with XP

EDIT

You can't read very well ...I wrote google your specs first in combination with your OS and the not working program.

But if you want to install XP anyway. Do as you like.
You should go for an XP Sp3.

:noidea What?
Use the latest mouse driver.
What's the purpose of those fixes?

I don't know ...it was the case for this laptop.
Dr.Flay knows maybe more about this issue.
