UT99 and VISTA!!!

well, it does bug out a little. nothing major though. seems like when i alt-tab out for a while and go back in, the game gets kinda weird. like the speed of the graphics, and if i move the mouse to turn it jerks way further than it should, so i end up doing a full 180 sometimes if i'm just trying to look to the right.

and i got a blue screen once, and had several errors. but it lets me play and everything just fine.

I have vista and it works fine everything is activated Anti virus, firewalls, ect.

If you have a logitech mouse thats the reason. Especially if u use their drivers. In my experience at least.

I'm using Vista64 as well and so far there's been no problems, (well except for me getting used to the speed of it again)

I did not at the time. However, I am now on Windows 7 and had the same problem when I tried to revive my old copy of UT. But I figured out what the problem was; you just need to disable DirectInput in the preferences, under the Input tab. It's a bug that is caused by the way Vista/7's mouse acceleration works.

I think I read about that somewhere else on this site, and also ran into this topic, but I didn't even realize that I had an account here that I made 7 years ago.

I never played UT99 on Windows Vista so I never used it but I found this Vista UBrowser Fix by AnthraX in my file database.

"This is a small fix for the UT Server browser on windows vista. Because of a problem with the UdpLink.BindPort() function the browser will either be very slow or not work at all. Unzip these files to your system folder to fix the problem. The mod will load automatically."
