How is the secondary UT font called?
How is the secondary UT font called?
Does anybody know what the name is of the second font used in the Unreal Tournament logo?
The part that is "Tournament"? I am looking for it, but haven't found anything.

Nope it's not... The R and the A are totally different.
Here a close-up Oh and the E is also different.

I don't really know what was the font used, but it wouldn't surprise me if that is actually the font used and the original artist just took some liberties here and there when styling the letters the way he did, and modified some letters a bit to accommodate the style he was after.

Then he/she changed it a lot. Nearly every letter is different ...this means it was heavily customised and therefore it can't be the same font.

To be honest, the only difference I see is that the one in the logo has the wide parts of the characters wider, while the thin parts are thinner.
So it either is a another variation of Calisto, or the artist purposely changed the characters to be that way.
I mean, even the E has the lower serif a bit more pronounced and misaligned with the higher serif both in the logo and the font itself.

The M is not straight as in Calisto, that pretty much disqualifies if I believe.
You must construct additional pylons.

My work consisted to 80% to find the font the customer had used in all his CI but didn't know the name of it because someone else made it. Those kind of customers gives you an JPG screenshot of a button from their webpage with a blue gradient and demand from you "please take our blue".Feralidragon wrote:To be honest, the only difference I see is that the one in the logo has the wide parts of the characters wider, while the thin parts are thinner.

So, here I compared them.
The T and U are very close, The O fits the best (but that's always the letter with the highest conformability, never use the O to compare fonts.) Every other letter has at least two differences... and that's too much. No, That's not Calisto. Yes, I have to admit it's very close ...but it's still a miss.
Re: How is the secondary UT font called?
Sorry for first post here, but
I've found actually "almost" exact font its called NEVAC BOLD, but as you can see N does not fit the style.
I think you will have to search for some kind of Neva / Nevada BOLD font from 199X era when game was in works, cause this is closest thing I could find.
I also have UT2003 FONTS from one of leaked source code v2107 and it includes fonts. But that won't help, cause they are all used in ut2003

Absolutely no problem, man. Welcome to the forums!bass3kick wrote:Sorry for first post here, but...
Does seem to be pretty close. I dunno if it's just me though, but the sides of the T also seems a bit rounder (not sure how to explain)
EDIT: nevermind, was just me

Re: How is the secondary UT font called?
The O seems too symetrical, the M is not splayed and it seems to lack the final serif of the R. But it has the beveled nook for the N.
We need an expert typographist here (is that the right word?).
