CTF, Domination, Deathmatch... what are the very best outdoor or partially outdoor maps from the mapping community?

One I played recently way Oblivion 12 by James "Chezdog" Mclean. A really nice CTF map with the bases set in a small valley.

There are loads and loads - try AAhuNui (bases on a volcanic island - CTF but there's also a MH version plus DM I think - also called Red Skies) and Eagles (bases in a mountain valley connected by cable car, also passageways and action within buildings - multiple versions of this CTF map, maybe DM version as well). These two are near the top of my map folders - I can suggest more in due course if desired.

Have you looked on Mapraider? You can search maps by gametypes, by genre including natural and by size (amongst other things), plus you get screenshots to help you choose.

PS : for a stunning revamp of a classic try CTF-FacePalm and for MH amongst exotic greenery have a look at MH-Anatulius. Recently posted on this forum are two DOM maps by FNB - FourTemples and IslandX. There's some great maps with outdoor elements in the UTR map pack. I've played DM-[BBST]Chinese Wall a lot and several of the other BBST maps are outdoors (Thailand for example) - some of the clan sniper maps are outdoors (for these maps gamezoo.org/ is a good place to look).

Well there are a few high quality maps for you... By Outdoor I think you mean "terrain", so my answer will be accordingly.

DM
The UT99.org Community Mappack 2 has DM-UTR-Kamah (Creavion) in it.
There is DM-Marklar, very tight map.
And there is, of course, my DM-TMC-Narean. A study of winding walkways, caves and an ancient temple at night.

CTF
CTF-DisposableHeroes has always been a favorite of mine.
CTF-Shadar (ElChicoverde) is probably the most impressive outdoor CTF map. It's huge and plays quite well.
Both CTF-ProjectX and ProjectX2 are also recommended. Their terrain didn't really age well, but both maps are huge and well designed, especially PX2.
CTF-Wether (Bot40) and CTF-DeNovo (Ulukai) both feature a lot of open skies, but are both no-terrain maps.
CTF-UTR-Syntra is set in a small valley, looks quite nice.

DOM
Don't have a good selection of Domination maps, but DOM-FoT-Xenora of the FoT3 package features a good bit of terrain. It was done by Derdak2Rot and me.

AS
Now there are a few interesing maps:
AS-ColdSteel, ColderSteel and Coldsteel2 are all gorgeos maps, huge and really well playing. I think you can get them in the packages AS-Coldsteel and Cold(er)steelpack...
There is AS-FoT-Chronoshift by our very own Revelation, featured in FoT5 (check FnBs page for that one). It does feature part terrain, part outdoor, part REALLY impressive tech facilities in one even more crazy AS map.
In the Forts of Time package, there is also AS-FoT-Shasmah, a nice Nali / Ancient themed Assault map by Derdak2rot (where is that guy? he made some awesome sauce back then)
And to respect the classics, also check AS-Bridge. Really old, really not aged well, but considered a classic back in the day.

€ As for getting all those maps:
I have mine in my signature as a neat get all in one package.
For the FoT mappacks, check FnBs homepage.
For the other maps mentioned, you can check either mapraider or ut-files (see the link on ut99.orgs mainpage).

Awesome thanks for all the suggestions.

I haven't gotten a chance yet to try all them yet but so far of the ones I played I really like CTF-DisposableHeroes. That is some of the best looking terrain I've seen in UT99 and the map is nice and tight.

There's a pretty good outdoor map called DM-TigerHunt][ that can be found on this page.

It's a relatively large rural map with some enterable buildings and farm stuff and etc.

Love when folks use my screenshots!

DM-TigerHunt][ is great, no doubt. Varying lighting, bit of a cubed high grass motif in places but still cool, houses and barns for shelter, weird UFO for no particular reason.

It's also a sequel map, to a slightly smaller and much brighter DM-TigerHunt.

Actually the map list is vast.
More outside maps then you can imagine.
Also I run close to 200 maps on my server...
100 or so are outside maps, 50 of which are custom and most are considered HUGE.
If you see something you like I can always email it to you.
Give a look and then give a shout.
