Why the maps CTF-Darji16, CTF-Noxion16, DM-Deck16 have the number 16 in their names? Is it cause of the grid size or what?

Interesting question. There exists maps with 32 in mapname too like CTF-Hydro32 or DM-Deck32][. You could have a look what is the difference between CTF-Hydro16 and CTF-Hydro32.

My 1st thought was always that it fits that many players,
(Which made sence since Deck32 is way bigger than Deck16)

Now I'm guessing it's just the number of the facility, and 16 JUST so happen to fit in as a combat arena for Liandri

It could be since all the maps I mentioned above have the ideal player count set to 16, but it's set to 12 in Hydro16.

The maptitle of CTF-Darji16 is "Darji Outpost #16-A", so here it is clear that the area has this number.
I found an interesting hint in the readme of the DM-Arena16 map. The same person has worked with others on the DM-Deck32][ map. "Single Player: You can practice with up to 15 bots" is there written. So the author of the DM-Arena16 map seems to have thought the number is a hint to the maximum player amount incl. bots.

Otherwise perhaps it was a "running gag" or "insider" of the mappers to take 16 for other maps too.
For example Liandri Archives Wiki said about CTF-Hydro16: "The hallways guiding to the flag bases form the number 182 when seen in top-down [...] from the Unreal Editor. This might be a reference to punk rock band Blink-182."

Well, I can see the 1 and the 8, or maybe I just found the 8:

Instead, from a bottom-up view I can see what could probably be a 2:
82.jpg
But in that case the 1 would be above the 2.

There is no doubt about this. I discovered also a butterfly in the upper left corner. And the mapper's real name is Hermann Rorschach.
I see nothing still, is the 182 in sequence? I can't see the butterfly :|

Here is the full text:

Blink-182 is a well-known rockband from 1992, but had his first big success with the album "Enema of the State" in 1999, the year UT99 came out.

Maps with 16 in the name are intended to support 16 or more players. Or so I'm sure I read it somewhere, I had a quick scan of the manual but couldn't see it in there.

Ah I got bamboozled, do you think there's no any 182?
I noticed there's another "16" map of which from a top-down view is very similar to Hydro16 and contains the same "8" shape, but I forgot the name of the map.
