Multiplayer Problem

Post by Peamole »

Do people still play UT99 online? :noidea :loool:
Whenever I try to get my old, jerry-rigged XP computer connected to the interwebzzz & to UT to look for a server, I get this crap:
Master Server Failed: The master server could not be resolved: master0.gamespy.com :omfg:

...And it doesn't help with me ol' boat a rockin' and sea monsters chompin' @ me. :Actor: :enforcer:

How do I fix this? Anyone?
BTW→It's not a firewall/internet problem. If I can see the stars at night, the internet's just fine...

It doesn't matter XP Win7 Win8 Win10. For all of them GameSpy is dead. You need to look for reconfiguring game after now days options.
For browsing MonsterHunt which was based on old GameSpy also you have to look at how to do settings for browsing all sort of games, including MonsterHunt.

You can look here

Where is pointed external link

Solution for browsing various game-types - enhancing UT browser capabilities.

@sektor2111
Thanks a ton. I tried changing the good ol' hosts file; it didn't work. I tried changing UnrealTournament.ini; it still didn't work. I think the problem might be with me disabling certain network processes, changing internet settings, etc. Doh! Good thing I didn't remove or damage the network card.
When I try to fix the a motherboard, it's like King Kong trying to fix a bus. Don't let me fix your laptop or tablet! :satan: :nonono:

Still enough people playing this online.
And for sure not mostly MH.

Even with Summer insight, we are seeing peak records on Fridays.

And check Sektor his link on the gamespy issue, this will solve your issue..
Gamespy has died since 2014, and 333 took over the hosting.
