In my opinion, UT is better than UT2004.

However, the only thing I like in UT2004 are the vehicle gametypes, because I really like to play with vehicles (that's why I like SLV/RX so much and pretend to do such gametype to UT).

But, UT owns UT2004 in gameplay and graphics (since UT2004 the maps look too plastified, as the terrain as well, with some maps as exceptions, and the guns look too smooth to call them guns, like the Link Gun for example). The UT weapons look more agressive in my opinion.

And it's the only game I feel that is the only one that is worth of my attempts of modding, mapping and such as well, since there's much more community in this game for the effect.

So my vote, easy: UT GOTY.

I like them both, and play them both. Both have large support communities and tons of available mods, mutes, skins, and maps.

However, my favorite is really the original Unreal. I prefer the single player game type of Unreal, and spend most of my time in UT running map packs with the OldSkool mod. I've just about finished up Xidia Gold, with 7 bullets next on my list. There is a small amount of SP content for UT2004 using the OSM mod, but they don't have that classic Unreal feel.

I'll keep playing UT (both SP and MP games), as well as UT2004. I would hate to have to choose only one, because they are different games, but they are both really good games.

UT 2004 offers Onslaught und has a lot of mods.
Its movement is quakelike und for me annoying, also I don't like the weapons.

So Unreal Tournament 99 forever, as I like movement, weapons and the setting of the maps.

Of course GOTY is better! but Raynor is right.

I've said it b4 and I'll say it again. The character animations in GOTY are superior to ALL the other Unreal series, 3 4 u2 ut3 all of em...the taunts, the prancing, Dr. Freakenstein becoming an angel, Loque doing the Macarena while I froze him with my alt-plasma....all of that goodness went away with the ragdoll. Sad.

I had a lot fun whit 2k4 too, but unlike 2k4, I've never lost my interest to play ut99.

Well i like them both, but the feeling are different....

UT2004, well its has a other kind of gameplay to be honest...The only think i really live is the Assault thing in there, becuase there are pickupable/droppable items in it that gave it more a feeling thats its really a kind of "Mission" (Like a Singleplayer campaign but then with more players

)

But for the rest i prefer UT more! It just have the feeling of unreal...Like the other said,weapons, characters, maps, etc...

I like UT99 better than UT2004. I'm not saying ut2004 blows or anything. Ut2004 has a great community as well as mods, maps, skins etc. UT99 is better for me cause of the gameplay, and it started the whole UT series & it's followers.

Hahaha, pretty good argumentation, ... thats pathetic. I dont know why but something tells me that you are one of those guys who can not accept any other opinion.

I am sure you could substantiate, why do you think you like ut1 most.
