and how do we define skill in this game?

Is skill measured in:

1. Frags per hour?
2. Frags - Deaths = score?
3. Top player on the end scoreboard is the best?
4. Ego vs Teamplay?
5. bla bla bla the list goes on............

And why asume that the best ut players are playing 1vs1 DM?

CTF and DOM has some more advanced tactics than DM, AS is also more tactical then DM .... and TDM also demand tactics and communication .... so, IMO DM 1vs1 are for ego players, with only one tactic - kill, run, kill, run, kill, run ......

Try sniper style dm .... pick a server with 10 or more players on, grab your rifle and find a nice place to camp, start searching for frags and avoid getting killed ..... that takes skill if you want to be on top of the scoreboard when the map is over.

Gues so there are good players, but not every good player will be in a clan some are to got, but also to arrogant for teamplay just in real life

well ... there are also 1on1 ladders, which arent clanrequired .. but ur right

I think 1 on 1 is more fun than normal DM. It isn't just run and kill, and requires tactics too.
In 1 on 1 you have to think like your enemy, you have to predict his every moves. You have to think about what will the enemy do, where will he go. You have to stay cool and focused, otherwise your enemy can outsmart you.

I also played against him and its amazing how he plays I lost 50-2 and Im may not the best player but I can play this game...
He is not in clanbase before you gonna ask... our whole community is not really in it...

A lot of it has to do with which map is played.
Sometimes people rule at one map then on the next they are on the bottom!
Happens to me and others too!
I have played some that seem unbeatable then next map comes and I beat them soundly!

Most Top Players havent been around for years, but look in clanbase if you want a challenge, thats your best bet

shame you only want to know about DM.
If you want the best of the best, you can try those who play CTF like it is DM.
That would be anyone of the {ROS}, {UTA} and {TLA} clans members, if you realy want to get splattered.
go play on RB or UTA
you'll see.

The "best of the best" are the best at what they do.....period.
But at the same time there are variables....game type/style/map...etc
Currently I am the best at "Redeemer" severs.

DM is the simplest form of gameplay, turn it how you want. In my filosofy you won't find "the best of the best" player in that gamestyle. Redeemer fights as mentioned above sounds fun, but what gamestyle does it fit? DM?

Sniper style is in my eyes not a gamestyle on it's own, it's just a modification under the DM/TDM class. For a gamestyle to be a "real" gamestyle it must change the style of play much different from the DM/TDM/AS/CTF/DOM/LMS gamestyle that came with the game, other than that are just modifications and not real gamestyles. BT, BL, MH and JB are real gamestyle with a whole new set of rules to play by.

I'd say... partially. In DM, when there are a total of 8 players you can't focus on every one of them. There it's mostly run and gun. Grab the shield belt before everyone else + udamage, and kill as most players as possible.

I would say DoC DeMeo...

DoC is a camping sniper clan..
BUT Demeo could probably beat almost anyone in ut.. well.. ya

I heard he bought Quake4 and played it for a short ammount of time..
Then beat the european champion of quake
