Pretty sure that still applies to the other Unreal1 weapons too.

Fairly recently, last couple months, I've been getting a wee bit of flak on my screenshots. Started a thread awhile ago, like years, on BeyondUnreal's forums and there's been recent chatter that my shots are too small and too sharp.

That clarity many remark on my in my usual screenshots is because I sharpen the image a smidge. As to why 800x600, that's usually big enough for me.

Anywho, tried to accommodate:

BU liked these better, but are still bugged by the text at the top left (they've got HUD issues) which the chat area cannot be fully turned off no matter what anyone does.

near the middle where it reads Actually evil, it may be a bit too sharp! and goes onto the most recent.

They make valid points, but the excessive smoothing of normal shots seems somewhat at odds with how the game looks when I'm playing it.

And that would be where I came and again come in. The comment above came from me, but you have taken in out of it's home at BU and thus out of the proper context.

My words were hardly accusatory. I made no comments about the content of your shots, just the rendering, and I only made those comments in an effort to perhaps help, not make trouble. I was trying to introduce you to anti-aliasing only to make your game look better and as it turns out, you apparently didn't know what it was and how much it can improve the visuals. I don't think anyone would disagree that some AA would go a long way to improving your experience as would decreasing the sharpening in your screenshots.

For those reading here, head over to the link evilgrins provided and have a read. Post back if you think any points made there were not valid or if they were made insensitively or otherwise maliciously. If they were or if you - evilgrins - took them the wrong way, then I apologize. I had no ill intentions at all.

You misunderstand my posting here. Of the Screenshots threads I post to on various forums, the one on this forum is the oldest. Those that've seen my stuff here for awhile have a sense of what I post and how.

I wanted a wider range of input on the points brought up about my screenshots on BU from what remains the most active UT forum online that I know of. I'm not saying any of what's said on BU is wrong, I just wanted more input.

Maybe even more advice from those here on how to improve my shots.

That's all.

No looking to stir up drama. There's more than enough of that in ALL the forums without me adding to it.

EG, I understand that you weren't trying for trouble. I just wanted to be sure that you and everyone else understood my best intentions, that's all.

Peace always!

Hey FXANBSS, your 4th screenshot?

This one ·

Looks like you're missing a texture. That white mushroomy looking thing is a U1/ut99 default texture that pops up when there's a texture issue with a map.

But I like the cheese texture.

And it sucks that we can't turn off the chat box since most of the time I don't need it. I like using the Unreal HUD without portraits because that font is neat and looks smaller than the usual font.
