Making Custom Character Models

Hello everyone. I just registered, and I have a few questions about making custom character models.

I've look around quite a bit for tutorials on how to make UT99 character models, but I haven't seemed to come up with much of anything.. I'd thought UT99 was popular enough to have at least one guide detailing character creation, but so far I haven't found anything.

Are there any beginner guides out there?
Does UT99 use skeletal animation? If so, where do you get the skeleton from?

Would be great if anyone could give some help and point me in the right direction.

Patch 436 supports skeletal animation, but UT mostly uses vertex meshes. If you want to use skeletal animation and take a look at Advanced Model Support: http://www.pseudorandom.co.uk/2001/paradox/ams/. Remind me of the Mullogs in Monster Hunt maps... Might wanna check if they are the one you'd like to mess with. ;)

2) Duck, you may wanna track down a thread "Screenshots for Fun" and skim through it. It'll take awhile but there's a lot in there that might be what you're looking for.

Those Aliens Grins has there are exported from one of the XCOM games.
