So far as I've tested UT does not need compatibility mode to run on Windows 8, it works fine with latest OpenGL.

Why would you want to do that? Windows 8 can be installed on regular desktop PCs as well you know :P

Well, technically you can. For example you could hook up your Surface Pro tablet with external keyboard and mouse.

I already played UT in a laptop only using the mouse pad, still owned in SLV servers, lmao :lol2:
In other servers however, the pad revealed itself to be frustrating though.

The only reason Windows 8 exists, is Microsoft needed a new GUI for touch-screen devices.

During the beta testing loads of desktop and laptop testers were bitching that they don't see the point of it, as it was not "better" than Win 7.
They were constantly reminded, Windows 8 will not benefit you, without an over-lay on your PC screen. It is not aimed at mouse and keyboard users.

Okay i have a issue. I didn't want to create a new thread since i found this one.

I have a Windows 8 laptop Sony Vaio E-Series. I installed UT99 and once i click play nothing happens. I'm sort of a noob so any ideas how i can get it going?

Thanks.
