pretty much this...

Nah not really.

Here in G is everything cut and blemished... but UT1 was pretty much gory here, but only for 4 years...
If something got indexed, could you still purchase a copy of this game as an adult (18+)...but it was prohibited to advertise this game or display the package into your shop window or to put it into store rack. If you didn't know about this game from somewhere else was it like it never exist.
Even now is it impossible for German steam user to buy a UT1 or UT24k or UT3 on steam ...because minors can also buy it there. :mad2:

Let me ask this: has Germany any sort of firewall to block people from seeing real violence and gore related websites? I ask this because if they block extremely old games that barely show anything and if they don't block actual real websites with actually "real" content which can be accessed by minors even more easily (ever since Internet exists) and which can actually have severe outcomes in their lives unlike "games", then that's utterly and absolutely retarded imho.

Anyway, I am glad I don't live there, we don't have any restrictions around here and I am yet to see anyone or any news about games doing any bad to kids. I can't count the amount of extremely good people at heart that just loved growing up with Doom, Carmageddon and the like.

That's exactly what I meant before. Don't expect any logical or mannerly done work from our authorities here :|

Oh ...G-land doesn't block people from watching real violence and gore related websites ...the newscast portals are covered with the freedom of speech and the freedom of opinion... everything else is the internet. The internet is the hatchery of nasty things ...and the government would love to use a firewall to "protect our children".

This land is pretty much fucked up ...our government use children as cover to install censorship, but in the mean time they are selling their souls to the market and being good lobbyist. We have secularization but the most powerful are christian parties.
One of the two main Television companies (ZDF) got a new chairman ...a high member of the reigning christian party.

Oh I didn't notice, Doom was indexed from May 1994 till August 2011... *joy* we can buy Doom again.

OK btt:
it's for me irrelevant if UT is indexed or even confiscated ...I will play it.

With the things that are going on behind closed doors right now, I can assure you UT will live a bit longer. :)

We have a saying: "You can't legislate morality". It's as true now as it has ever been.

Is the UT on the GOG site also blocked in Germany?
Looks like we know where Jack will be sending lots of copies :lol2:

The world thinks us Europeans are more "liberated", but it really depends on the issue.
Sexuality and swearing etc. are more allowable on TV, but violent scenes are heavily cut.
eg. even Buffy the Vampire series, was edited for the UK public.
