question about ut99

Post by darksonny »

Hi: I was viewing some website listed in a thread from this great forum, the ctfm shortened gametype what is the m word mean to be? it seems to be a separate gametype besides the ctf standard. Is needed some files to play this gametype?

Another question the cd2 stc textures from official ut disc is lower on resolution quality compared to the ST3C hight quality made by a ( i cant recall correclty their name) guy? I lost the cd2 maybe I dont miss anything when there is better quality texts there out. Its netcode compatible?

Thanks!

CTF4 is most mature http://unrealtournament.99.free.fr/foru ... =51&t=1918

Cd2 UT is bugged so you can have other and beast file S3TC and settings http://unrealtournament.99.free.fr/foru ... f=51&t=482 (ut.fuzzeh.com files are fasted ) you can play online and offline with it.

hi, so ctfm and ctf4 come to be the same gametype? thats odd is there any differences in game terms?
Edite: Ok, the ctf4 version is a sort of better evolution for game ctf with 4 flags. Then I asssume I can play ctfm maps with ctf4 maps together its correct?
about st3c cd2 thanks thanks for the explanation, better i will play offline with st3c's high res teext

As opposed to normal CTF, which is just 2, I always assumed the CTF"M" was for "multiple".

CTFM Project page
http://www.moddb.com/mods/multiteam-ctf
CTF4 Official page
http://www.uncommonplace.com/games/ctf4.html
If you are interested in "Flag Effects" http://www.uncommonplace.com/games/flageffects.html (I love these)
Then you will need Wormbos extra mutator http://www.koehler-homepage.de/Wormbo/F ... orCTF.html

The Hi-res replacement texture-packs are available from uttexture.com
http://www.uttexture.com/UT/Website/Dow ... xtures.htm (Use this page to decide which ones you can use)
and this one to download from (the site is a pig to navigate).
http://www.uttexture.com/UT/Downloads/Textures/
Alternative page (same source)
http://www.oldunreal.com/textures.html

They also have the original textures archived in-case you need them.

*NOTE* You must read this post before using the new textures http://www.ut99.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=373
