hi,
if your audio starts scratching when you open UT, try to higher the audio latency value in your UT.ini.
Open your UT.ini file with Notepad (or any other text editor available), search for [Galaxy.GalaxyAudioSubsystem] section and edit the value of Latency param (40 ---> 60).

[Galaxy.GalaxyAudioSubsystem]
...
Latency=60
...

This should solve the audio scratching issue. See if this solves also the error message.

cheers,
Pietro

This will also work.

[Galaxy.GalaxyAudioSubsystem]
UseDirectSound=False

This is one of the best things for UT, these sound renderers.
When Flay gave them to me, i was surprised and happy with them because they make UT sound awesome...
But unfortunately i don`t find any UT server with ACE to play on with the renderers because Admins don`t wthitelist them.

I try these options but when I change the "Latency" or the "UseDirectSound" the sound is delay and sounds shit.
About the ALAudio - OpenAL is a great sound driver but sadly it's not working onlyine.

Yes hust like above people sayd try to install fmod or al audio for ut 99,
I do have the same problem with windows 8.1 and windows 10.
With windows 8.0 or 8.1 fmod will do the trick.
You have to look at the turtual and tipps thread of this forum.
Raynor is the author of that section take a look and configure step by step to solve this problem.
for more details within ut 99 you have to enable the s3tc textures.
Opengl does the trick for me, and for much others on this forum.

sound scratching in ut99 is a very common issue but usually it is solved by changing latency value
well, I think it's a trivial question: are you sure everything is ok with your pc audio drivers or your ut99 install ?
