Interesting how you can be recommending maps that you don't have and don't know where to find...

More that this, some of them have links to nowhere even to some evil places (I'm not bother to recall them)... else I won't subscribe for spam nowhere where "login" is required.

Hey, where is Medor ? Search and Destroy !

I have these in my install, but I couldn't find a download link for them. :D

Anyways, DM-TwinPeaks is actually DM-TwinPeak (without the s at the end) and can be found here:
http://uttexture.com/UT/Downloads/Maps/ ... inpeak.zip

DOM-Spire is basically one of Ulukai's Rocket Arena maps turned into a DOM map (or the other way around), alos it actually is called DOM-SpireTemple and is in here:
http://medor.no-ip.org/index.php?dir=Ma ... temple.zip

As for DOM-Tezcatlicopa... I think it's actually in this pack
http://medor.no-ip.org/index.php?dir=Ma ... overde.zip
DM version of the map is here: http://ut-files.com/index.php?dir=Maps/ ... lipoca.zip

you happy now :P

Yes for a couple of seconds, until things seems to go off-topic. This TOPIC was about QUALITY outdoor maps, not packages containing MyLevel.u (which can be in thousands of ways - so to speak it's useless), also a 0 (zero) inspired name "MyLevel2.utx". Couldn't find something familiar or such ? I did not checked more, only 2 pieces and already it's fun to find some homework for destruction  . Wait me to report "Bot Support" related to "quality" term...

Edit: Seeking third... Words are useless, image speaks itself.

This was one of the 48 hours contest maps ...What do you expect in a 48 hours time-frame?
The pathnode network was created with the set-automatically-pathnodes system.
We already know that bot support is buggy on GenMoKai's map... But the BSP is still great. Gen can maybe fix the Bot pathing and release it as second version :noidea

I may have the same issue when I get in on this, listing maps I've had for years but not knowing where to download them from now as most of those sites don't exist anymore.

Basically I'm gonna go through, screenshot the lot, post them to my LJ UT forum, and then link them here.

I cannot expect perfection but neither letting all those. Why is posted then in "quality outdoor maps" ?
This is what I wanna see - back to work for setting up some quality - design is great indeed, not many people can do such design.
Another one which was almost good, but later I simply ended UT's task...
DM-Abberant - A Lift moves even without a valid touch (BSP CRAP), other one has no pathing link, a ledge bugs "people", No way to redeemer, Bot have to look like an old man failing bugged when try to get a stupid MedBox and... Wait...
AGAIN, Swanky asked for Quality outdoor maps, being interested about this too I was digging a bit stuff - OFF TOPIC = No quality maps.

For DM probably is enough what I could see, the rest of CTF and so on (which has a little harder Bot Support) I think I don't want to see what's the deal... I don't need any longer to look over this topic. :sad2: At Skillz seems to be located some Levels (Even InDoor) which are close to PERFECT. I just need more time to sort them...

@sektor2111: I admit that not all of the maps are top notch (some may have bad bot support or HOMs or some other bugs). But I just picked these from my UT install mainly because either they have decent terrain, or are nice to play(or both) :)
If you have your picks for quality outdoor maps, than please name some of them, because I'm always interested in good maps.

@Carbon, I'm having a hard time without your help, thank you very much. :P sigh.....eggzamzzzz....

Quality is a loose term, especially for terrain based maps, more so with the unreal engine.
Since highpoly terrain does have a serious impact on the engine, you usually loose extra eye candy in form of houses, ruins and the like, sometimes even invisble barriers created by cuts in the terrain. Sometimes this tradeoff is unavoidable. People that knew what they are doing were able to minimize those things and squeeze out a few nice maps. And that's the maps I am looking for.

What also I have to complete (is the mostly a development issue), some of those maps (Levels) seems very against development because they have a stupid God called "BotPack". Original DeathMatchPlus with DMMutator called tends to replace all old stuff with BotPack stuff. Well... some of these "quality outdoors" have a FlakCannon and uses ammo for UT_FlakCannon letting hunter to run out of load if we play other ADVANCED DM game (read again - Advanced). If we have other DeatmatchPlus type replacing stuff properly will encounter issues as long as these guys seems clueless about Inventories, also that TwinPeak doesn't include only that issue (no problem in default) but has a BSP visual BUG under a vial - Bot cannot get such stuff in a spot acting like retards, cannot move in all map - "amazing lift pathing", cannot recover Navigation before getting Udamage, and there is no way to Redeemer. But... ENJOY it since I see it multiple times mentioned, and of course outdoor maps needs SKILL.

Let me mention a mixed one OutDoor-InDoor - "DM-Watcher". Is amazing to see a very optimized pathing (I was hunted and I hunted constantly) but... ASMDAmmo is pointless for ShockRifle, MR. Jaspos. Such things are forcing me to use regens as long as I cannot attack enemy using only hammer (sometimes helps translocator). I found other god one mixed SkaarjStorage, in that one I did not love Bot Pathing, some areas with 0 paths, others = spam. Stuff was OK - ONLY old stuff, good for me - has been modified properly to gain a good hunt.

A recent one mixed as well: DM-Conqueror - truly good pathed and stuff.
Such maps awake my interest - DeathMatchPlus is not Museum to look at walls, is a combat game in end.

DM-WW1 - mixed - small - bad pathed in undergrounds (don't say it's impossible because is not), some cannons-like firing are better looking than mortars spawning from nowhere but... it is fixable too.

I'm gonna do a longer one for later, but I thought i'd do a quick skim of map edits I've done that fit the criteria of being both outside, good, and well pathed.

These work:
http://unreal-games.livejournal.com/85632.html
http://unreal-games.livejournal.com/98643.html
http://unreal-games.livejournal.com/99231.html
http://unreal-games.livejournal.com/99808.html
http://unreal-games.livejournal.com/101512.html
http://unreal-games.livejournal.com/102886.html

At least there's downloads for those at each one.

Arden - has issues at some lift in Outpost - you have to shot Bot in order to unlock it else has chances to stay there useless, and I did not see anyone fixing those bsp invisible barriers. In whatever "original" fix1 version I did not see any Titan patrolling as supposed - no worry for me, I have one with all fore-mentioned issues removed - including Bot stuck out of paths.
Eagle... etc. - in RedBase there is a playerstart which makes a bot an useless camper if spawns there - will react only in threat with chances to die falling - BAD. For future, I'll plan an Intelligent LiftExit as long as a carrier has been murdered while was waiting a Lift, and other Lift was available - A.I. is truly dumb set there. Probably will be simple to not have any deal with Lifts as long as Flag is a priority - NO CAMP with any matter.

That's all for the moment. Do I need to check more ? Not right now.
