How big is your UT folder?

Post by Zeppy »

I'm sure most of us started with this game at under 1gb in total with all the files when installed, until you download mods & maps.
Go check your UT folder, right click > properties, see how many GB you got.

Which one? :loool: The version for working around or version for client used in Net play supposed to avoid mismatches?
However I'm not interested about this and if we have a minimum of operation skill we know how to check a folder without amoeba instructions in how to count a folder's size. An UT full of trash at a moment leads only in problems, it's not something to be proud of it.

If I remember correctly ( Too lazy to turn on the PC :loool: ), Way more than 16 gb.
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's too late to stop reading it.

It was 26 GB until i removed the stupid high-res textures (Now i have 20 GB), Chamberly, you have all them there? That explains why you have that size.

Crap, that time when my cache install failed and some tons of stuff got corrupted. lololo
Stupid cache, now i need to update all my garbage. yay

I had to split mine a few years ago due to Thievery, Infiltration and other real world mods making it too big for the old drive.
Not sure what the combined size would be.

I always suggest that people go for the smallest pack first because;
a) is only slightly bigger than the CD2 files, but will not cause skating players.
b) looks a similar scale to the originals, so maps with low-res custom textures don't look odd.

:noidea Do people listen ?
No, they just do straight for the Extreme ones, then do not notice they are missing 2 HighEnd packs, and moan about weirdness.
Can't really blame people, and it doesn't help that the site is confusing.
