I have just recently bought a 4Gb Flash Pen.

What I would like to hear is some ideas on how to get UT running as small and FAST as possible (heres the important bit) - When connected to a PUBLIC LIBRARY computer.

That means the following:

- It needs to be small, and discreet - running in a window on launch.

- Playable at a fair speed

- Able to receive downloads directly to the Pen for custom content. <- Hard one.

Any takers?

That's easy:

At home:
- Copy and paste an UT instalation into your Pen Drive directly
- Configure it (tweak) to open windowed

At that Library:
- Be sure that you have a 2.0 Usb Interface, for full speed
- Open Ut normally, and you don't need nothing more, and it will run good, and the server downloads are downloaded directly to the Pen Drive, as the drive itself has the UT instalation in it

Hope this helps

Nope, there's no problems at all, just remember that UT has almost 10 years, so yes, it is old and don't make that IP check and stuff.

UT99 is so old that it doesn't require CD keys.
UT99 is so old that it doesn't require to be installed in order to run. (copy&paste)
UT99 is so old that it doesn't keep settings, maps, user related stuff in MyDocuments.
UT99 is so old that it doesn't need any information in the windows registry in order to run.
UT99 is so old that it can be run from CD using minimal installation. (and whit a few tweaks... from another computer in the network)

That's why UT is so versatile and good

It was just to say that due this game age, there was no these type of checks, because there wasn't so much piracy and hackers back then.

It was just simple and effective, and that's why Unreal Engine 1 has still a big potencial nowadays.

Testaccount wrote:Okay heres what Ive done.

UT Demo + 436NOdelta + C:UT + BT++ + BT2

Only trouble is it wont load any of the querys, or load any open IP's.

I figure the master address is wrong but what does it need setting to? Does anyone have an Upto date INI I could pinch?

Edit:BTW Singleplayer/Offline is fine, just Multiplayer Online.
