Help on Startup
Help on Startup
Hello, I need some help with ut99 GoTY edition, everytime I press escape to begin the game (as the game asks me to) it closes out on its own.
Is there a way to prevent this? I really want to play and last time I played it had no problems whatsoever

Re: Help on Startup
If you start a game, DONT press ESC.
This message comes up if i loads to long. UT thinks, your starting nothing...so you can press ESC to start a new game.
Just dont pay attention to it.
Loading a online-map can take some minutes sometimes.

Re: Help on Startup
What he said, its just after the intro screen where she talks about UT, on the bottom of the screen it says press escape to begin, and instead of bringing the menu to select a file, options, etc it just closes out.Dare wrote:I think he means when he starts UT up.
This is recent too though, when i first played it like 4 months ago it was all fine

Re: Help on Startup
Open your user.ini (in the System folder) and search after "esc" ...maybe theres a keybinding on it
e.g. esc=quit
e.g. esc=quit
Re: Help on Startup
Nope, it says "Escape=ShowMenu" I tried to change it to M= ShowMenu but that didn´t seem to work
Edit: I just swapped "Jump" and "ShowMenu" with escape and space bar, this time pressing space bar didn´t do anything and when I pressed Escape (which was set to jump) nothing happened either, not sure if this info helps

sorry
Think it may have something to do with my keyboard itself? maybe something I can fix in control panel?
