Its most likely map itself because the mapper might has not used denamic lighting correctly

RightMouseButton on Surface -> Surface Properties

Be sure your on the Tab called "Flags"
As you can see you see that you can tick some boxes. The one that can involve lights and shadows are

- High Shadow Detail
- Low Shadow Detail
- Dirty Shadows
- Bright Corners

I think to solve your problem you need to Tick the boxes, Bright Corners or/and High shadow detail

I hope i helped you enough with it!

Just check "bright corners" in surface properties, that does a good job of making the whole surface nice looking and fit along with the texgtures around it. :D

Yes the 177.79(I think or 49) gf drivers took care of about 80% of the dark spots
The rest of the dark spots looks like they should be there

Im guessing the Bright Spot option is in UnrealEd?

Im not a mapper and thats just a map i play

What is the "Dirty shadows" flag for? I can't see the difference.
