With the Sktroopers I tend to put them in batch texture files of 8 or more skins. I've never done that with any other skinning project before.

Until now.

Decided to update my Thing skin but rather than make more files, I just built on the existing ones.

I may make more, I may not. For those not familiar with the character, he's surprisingly worn a wide range of outfits over the years.

Actually finished this awhile ago:

Darkened it up, fixed the boots. All team colors as displayed in the setups above.

Greetings from UnrealSP!

Wow! All of your Superhero/Villain skins are amazing! I especially like the all-black male soldier skin with the skull accents... I would really like to make something cool like that for a certain player model (hint hint)

Here's a recent SKTrooper skin I call the "Phantom," one of my skins that has come out to my liking. Not radically new or different, just wanted to make something neat I wanted to use when playing offline:

[can you guess what trooper skin it's based off of...]

Out of curiosity, what image editing program do you use? What format do you save the skins in (to be imported in UEd)? I've made some skins here and there and for some reason when I import them as PCX images it crashes the editor :/ Using Gimp.

Looks like the Skaarj Sniper you edited there.

I was without internet access for over a decade, other than hitting the library, and learned skinning from scratch. I use MS Paint, ThumbsPlus, and notepad to edit the .int file.

The Piratey (black with skulls) skin I made at an indirect request for Hook's forum's servers. For him it's without team colors, I added them to my version which has it on the back & front of the upper torso: 2 different skull patterns.

I edit the files in differing formats. I convert the .pcx files to .png to edit with other programs, then convert them back to .pcx putting them back in UnrealEd to the .utx file.

i recently updated that one, also made an dark edition of the War Boss and will put them together in one pack.

This also inspired me to do some TC'ed Dark Editions of some Male Soldier's..

Will make them available at the end of january, when i have stable internet connection..;) also will up pictures of it than..

What I'm currently working on:
Image
Keep putting it off but actually taking a stab at it now.

Won't know for sure how it looks until I slap it on a bot.
Image
Not quite there yet. Having some problems with the crotch (don't say it).

Can't do the belt until after I get that all situated correctly.

Progress...

I'm not happy with the belt, obviously. Still need to even up the gloves and the torso piece to the boots and gauntlets.

Still working up some faces.

Nowhere. It's not done yet.

I'm still on the fence about whether or not this will be one of the skins o' mine I share. Some I keep for myself, in the dim hope I've got something original enough for my own games.

Go here ยท http://www.ut99.org/viewforum.php?f=13
The ones with (download) in the subject line are mine. If you like this one, you may like those too.

Hands down the easiest model to skin is the STEG.

I don't know who made the thing but he didn't give it team colors and the original skin was fairly lousy.

Those are the basic skins we use on CMM for our "house" skins for the Bots - I also wear it too. - Only ours have our "CMM" logo on the fronts. :gj:
You can see them in action there - they are Very Good looking!
Evilgrins did an Excellent job on them. :tu:
