A long time ago, back when ut99 was still called Unreal Tournament as there was no other version of it, there was a site called UTskins.com and it was the main site for skins & models. It's gone now, like a lot of the good ones, but it made a good point about something.
It pointed out there's very few skins that use the colors purple, orange, and/or pink.
This is largely true, though I've made a poinf of incoporating these colors into my skins.
Why do you suppose those colors are used so infrequently?

Re: Colors
The honest answer? Because they are associated with the gay culture and UT is predominately young men who are quite homophobic by nature. Need proof? Look at the thousands of "Why do you play as a girl model" threads and server conversations. It still bothers some grown men who are old enough to know better than to feel this way.
So long, and thanks for all the fish
