AFTER the Black Mesa incident, Barney Calhoun's primary source of income had fallen through. After tolerating so many odd jobs here and there, the former security expert decided to put years spent fighting human and non-human foes alike to the test of tests - the Liandri Tournaments...

A first crack at the whole Usaar33-style conversion thing. We've already got the Gordon Freeman model, so why not throw in his sidekick buddy into the fray? This archive comes with two skins, two faces, all of which are interchangeable; team colors for both skins and talk textures for both faces. A few bugs here and there, but I don't think they should detract too much from the overall quality of the model. If anyone with UScript/Modeling advice could demonstrate how to fix these bugs, it would be greatly appreciated!
And while you're going ahead and getting some Half Life in your Unreal Tournament, why not bring the Barney Calhoun experience full circle with the Barney Calhoun voice pack? Been a stretch since I've seen that configuration. There was a massive explosion of models setup like this, default one arm down and the other at a holding gun position when not actively running around, about 7 years back. This is a decided improvement.

Thanks! Yeah, I think I know what you're talking about. One of those other models was Solid Snake, I believe. The Usaar33 method is very simple and easy to follow, only downside would be that I think you need a specific version of HL models in order for it to work 100% as intended - which, still, is not perfect but merely an optimal result.
Aside from that I guess there are some limitations in UT itself that I don't know how to overcome. For instance, in HL1 the helmet is originally shiny:

I couldn't figure out how to get a chrome texture to apply to those faces. Viewing the model in Unreal FX I can see clearly which of the faces use that texture, but I have no idea what file I would edit/what name to save the texture is in order for the helmet's surfaces (faces) to use the texture. Nonetheless, in the case of this model it wasn't too big of a deal and, oddly enough, with the way the teamtextures turned out, ended up being vaguely practical as now the Barney skin's helmets reflect the player's team. Silver lining, I suppose.

Aside from the fact that porting an entire game's worth of content to UT might not be the best idea, because that might get the wrong sort of attention, the end result model isn't really the BEST at all. Compared to Usaar33's Gordon Freeman model, the running forward animation is slightly buggy (twitches or something), so I wouldn't see the point in doing such a thing.

OK, well, I really have nothing else to say anyhow. I'm glad to see the community looking out for one another as far as downloads are concerned. Seeing as how all the file-hosting websites seem to be rushing to cater to all the "popular" mods/games, it's certainly needed.
Does anyone here know about modelling on an advanced level? Particularly, if changing the coding in the model's .UC file can help fix a running forward animation?

That's it. would've told at the time but the only place i knew he could get it offhand was from a map I edited, a particular map which any variation of has been banned up and down this particular forum due to the messed up freakazoid that made it.
